Whenever I try to get a balance (vodafone pay as you talk) by using the usual *#1345# it comes up 'warning unkown language'. Can anyone tell me how to get a balance up without having to listen to all the gumph on the creditline?????

1. the sound is very inferior. you may record memo and compose but they come out harsh and vey uneven loudness
2. there is no way you can put a stored phone number in your SMS. you must type the number yourself if you want to send it vis SMS (very frustrating)
3. the okay button misfires. sometimes two to three presses before it works
4. the manual is badly written. there are things that you can and cannot do that are not documented.
It's a pity because for its looks, i'd give it a 10!

Alcatel OT511/512 better than T191. Got many cool functions in 511/512 and it has many features too.

Wich one do you think is best? alcatel one touch 511/512 or the motorola talkabout 191? I'd apreciate your help.

i have alcatel511 and it is great.small,cute light,but i dont like its green light it is a litle dificult for use but you can easly adjust to it in any case it is a good phone and a great step forward for alcatel!!!!

+-7400bef (avec 2000bef d'appels) Pour le prix c'est vraiment le meilleur gsm du marché.
Les -: les menus assez compliqués et le T9 trop basic,la reception en 900hz(proximus,mobistar),seulement memoire sim...
Les +:La batterie tient 6 jours,le memo vocal,le "hands-free" puissant,la qualité du son,la reception en 1800hz(orange),les melodies polyphoniques(on peut en charger d'autres chez kiwee.com(site français)), ems le poids(75gr),la taille,et encore plein de petits detailles que chez nokia on ne connait meme pas...

Hi, i don't have the Alcatel OT 511 yet, but i'm concidering buying one. I haven't checked the price here yet though.
I now have the Siemens M35i, but i'm not really satisfied with it, and most probably will sell it. But, i don't know if it's worth selling and buying a 511.
I live in Antwerp, Belgium, but could anyone tell me if it's worth it's price?

Beautiful design. Smaller than a Nokia 8250, more hardy with the aluminium casing than the Nokia. Fantastic speech and reception. Only Glitch would be slow phonebook with only a SIM modifier and not a proper phone memory.A another thing would be the lack of GPRS.

In order to pit itself against the big guns alcatel should dump the old green screen and change to the now popular colour screen.

Overall it is a good phone with the price. It light n handy easy 2 use. But the phone not solid like Nokia even though it small. No data connection cable, cannot convert phone book 2 phone memory.
must careful not for those rough ppl.
