Hi, I am looking at this for my daughter who has asked for a phone that can download games so wondered if anyone knows if this one can? The one she got last year doesn't hence her wanting a new one :( Also does it have a pen? It sounds like you use your fingers but I know some modles have a pen for texting. Thanks

Bought today from the carphone-warehouse.
it's a great little phone.kids will be happy.
it comes unlocked so will take any sim card for any network.
charger.headphones in the box,the software suite can be grabbed from the alcatel site.and the lead a usb down to mini usb fitting was NOT in the box but is a type that usually comes with motorola's or many digital camers's
i had a spare lead that works and connects the phone to the pc ok and that was from a old mp3 player
.the pc suite was a pain.but it connects ok now to load mp3 and pictures etc.if you need a music converter the free "format factory".turns most other audio formats into mp3 files for you.

hi i`ve just orderd my from orange online and it wil get to my house tommorow but im not shore if it comes with the headphones i hope it doseand i am not shore if 5MB is alot or not alot of memory. but u could belive how much it costed when i stumbled apon it looking for a new phone lets hope its worth the money!

can anyone confirm these are unlocked from carphone warehouse.grankids want one.but on 02 there £5 more.they have 02 sims all ready,so could just buy on orange/virgin for £5 less than 02,price and just use there own 02 sims.if they are unlocked.thx

The reason is because I bought mine from the Orange shop and in their package they includes the metre long USB cable and some USB earphones :)
The price is the same as the carphonewarehouse options aswell :)
Although you have no choice of colours, silver only.

i have just ordered this phone on vodafone.. is the main menu different because it is on vodafone? i saw a picture of it where the menu was different and i was just interested.

I agree with all favourable comments here, this is an amazing feat of technology for such a low price. However - and this applies to the Vodafone version, the VF541 - unless you have the fingers of an eight year old child you'll find texting very difficult! The text size is not big, either. I'm surprised at this because on most alcatel phones, even the really cheap ones, you can zoom the text size. Also the Vodafone version does not have the rotating screen and its basic wap access is rather slow. But signal-wise, speed of sending a text, camera, etc. its an interesting item.

i have some questions...

It supports .3gp video formats only.
And it uses a mini USB headset, with no 3.5mm adapter, so you can only use the supplied headset.
