pors:good phonebook 800 files wonderful data for each contact,outlook synchro works great through infra connection, good camera performance zoom, effects, overall quality ok, good ringtones + mp3s, great battery and reception.
cons: no adjustment for display brightness and contrast!!! bad, unorganized menu structure too many useless items such as services, tips & tricks etc, general setup of the phone hidden in menu my setup.
my conclusion in two weeks it is nice but i am waiting for better from alcatel

thanks clax.Hey Trake i think u said right about the mp3 limited play..but needless to say this still the money value for money right?can't expect more to take out from this little phone.

I had the phone few days ago, it was a surprise compared to 735,535. Alcatel is back to market with a value for money product. based on my test the display "despite 262k color is not impressive enough compared to samsung d410, but better than nokia 6600, sound of midi and mp3 is great compared to previous noisy alcatel phones, mp3 melodies are limited to 29 sec long!!! annoying if u compare to nokia n-gage, I think the reason for this limit is that the phone has no memory card ( compromise for the price also) major mistake by alcatel this phone supposed to be high end line released in 2004 should have bluetooth, memory card especially when it is equipped with a great camera , video and a good disply. no fm radio no music player I suppose nokia still on top. this phone is a good performer for most wise users only the silver color is good, blue and red is toy like, thanks to alcatel adding java at last after everbody does, reception signal and battery is superior to all other phones. if alcatel people is reading my coments please consider bluetooth, memoery card, fm radio in ur next model and please make it quick if u wish to share the market.

Thanks dude, I’ll get an infra-red port then. About the Chinese language thing, I don’t know what’s wrong with my phone coz only the ‘Tips&Tricks’ function’s in Chinese. The phone can be set into few languages- English, Malay, and Chinese.
Ok, now more about the camera. The camera for the phone is pretty good and clear compared to other phones. You can take pics in a few sizes- VGA (640X480), Panoramic, XL (128X160), L (128X128), M (64X64), and S (32X32). You can edit the pictures with frames and add sound clips. You can shoot pics in different qualities (High, std and economy), white balance can be set (automatic, sunny, cloudy, night and indoor) and color can also be set to black&white, sepia and negative. There is also a timer function. Quite cool for a mobile phone meh?
Now the video. There are 2 modes- MMS (10secs) and long mode (up to 30secs). You can record videos with or without sound and color can also be set like the camera. You can also encode and download videos into the phone using the PC Suite software up to 300kB (3gp file).
The phone has a 4mB memory but 1.5mB is used for preloaded pics, melodies and videos. You can also set atmospheres and menu colors to blue, green, multicolor, pink, yellow and purple. You can also set a video for your wallpaper and contacts. 2 java games are preloaded- Gulostale and SpeedDevils.
I hope this info will help you deciding to buy this phone. Tell me if you have more questions. I’ll soon be uploading examples of the camera pics taken by the phone into my website. I’ll tell ya the link later.

It's cheaper to get a Infraport cause it cost u only rm90 normal usb infra port.?? u said that ur phone only in chinese language? how u know the mp3 limited to 150kb 10-20 sec? tell me pls...... its up to u if u want to use infra the easy way rather than data cable HARD way...

Does anybody knows where to get the data cable for the phone in Malaysia? Or is it cheaper to get an infra-red port? Currently, I'm using my Sony Clie PDA to transfer wallpapers to it and it works perfectly. But onmy JPEG files, no midis or MP3s. And one more thing, anyone knows how to change the language for the 'Tips&tricks function? Mine's in chinese and I can't understand at all. It's kinda weird coz only that function's in chinese.
By the way, it's a great phone to own and all my friends were inpressed with how clear the camera is on the 262K TFT screen. And the tones too. The MP3 tones will just make Nokia and Motorola owners jealous. No kidding! Haha. But the MP3 tones are limited to 150kB -15-20 seconds (Just nice for Kylie's Red Blooded Woman!)

Hi again. Yup, KL. Well, actaully I live in Puchong but I bought it in KL. Oh, I bought it at DynaCom shop in Mid Valley. I begged for discount until they offered the phone for RM990 and I just grabbed it.

I bought one 2 weeks ago. A blue one. Looks great. Feels great too. Superb quality for the price. I got a good discount- the normal price in Malaysia is RM1099 but i got it at RM990 only(without reg.) The screen is superb and the camera too. You can take pics and record videos with 8x zoom but the video is a bit lagging. The camera's quality's very good compared to my bro's Nokia 3650 and 3200. Nokia sux man. The tones are great too. Especially the MP3 tones. There are a few default tones but i dunno how to upload more into it. The batt. lasts quite long- about 6 days before it needed to be charged. But the only problem I have now is that i cant access the GPRS and cant send any MMS. I called DiGi two days ago and they have activated it but they said that i must configure the phone. Anyone knows how to set up the phone? Anybody? Plsss.. Help me. Thank You.
