You will have to play around a bit to find it as I can't remember exactly how I found it. Whilst on a call or listening you can control the volume by the scroll whell.

Simple, the volume control is the scroll wheel on the right. when playing a song simply scroll like you would on a volume wheel on an old walkman. To modify the on off sound go into the profiles menu and edit it.

WHERE IS THE VOLUME CONTROL??!!!! Seriously, where is it? How do i turn the volume down? Just basic volume control. I'm finding it hard to move from my sony ericsson until i figure this out. My SE has such an easy volume function whether in earphone mode or without it. Also, the jingle that sounds when the phone is switched on & off is REALLY annoying. Can this be switched off? Its so loud. I just would like to know how to reduce/modify volume levels when playing music on its speaker and if the volume can be modified in regards to the ringtone. One set volume for all these things would be such a let down for an otherwise great phone...When it comes to sounds on my mobile, i need to be able to control these aspects. Unfortunately if i cannot do this, this phone may not be the one for me and i'll stick to my SE and maybe sell this one on. I'd appreciate the help as i don't want to let this phone go, but the volume thing is make or break for me. Thanks

I have just bought this phone from the Carphone Warehouse after deliberating for weeks on getting a second phone as I have had my Prada LG for two years and it was getting scruffy. As ll phones are unlocked at the C W I was pleased to be able to use my sim.
Well, I am impressed with the phone as it does exactly what I want. It looks good, perform superbly and the screen is excellent. It also has predictive text as well as the qwerty keyboard and works alongside it.
For £50 it is an excellent choice and am glad I finally decided on it

this phone is really good for it's price, of course its not a blackberry but it meets various expectations of a smartphone. gsm arena please update phone info, the alcatel ot-800a one touch tribe only plays 3gp video files and dos not have a document viewer.

Excellent phone, has bought to itself it for 100 dollars. On parities the price/quality/functionality perhaps the best phone in data of forms the factor.

The battery life is 1 1/2 days at best with perhaps 5-10 calls of 2-3 minutes avg.
I asked Cell One if they would upgrade me, because I cannot have a phone that unexpectedly plunges out of energy. I have tried back and forth for over a month and I even have insurance on this bugger and no satisfaction.
I would thoroughly enjoy this phone if the battery was better - it certainly occupies enough room in the back of the phone. I have an LG VX9900 in orange from Verizon that I wish I could put my Cell One Sim card into - that phone was a sweetie.
Well anyways - I do hope they come up with a 'fix'.
