I got the OT 800 Chrome.
Yes, you can turn off the predictive text but it's not an issue as you type in the word which you see on the screen and at the bottom the predictive texts come up and you useonly if you want to. It really is so simple. Exampl if you type
beg......for begin
On the screen it will be beg and at the very bottom in small letters you will have a list of words that you can scroll along like beg, begger, begin, begging etc so you can either continue typing or accept a predictive if you want. DO NOT BE PUT OFF. The predictive does not come up on the main screen as you type unless you want it to.

One more thing is this phone better then LG GW300? Your thoughts?

I hav a problem streaming youtube videos, i cant play mp4 files and my does this phone realy hav a document viewer cz i cant use mine, any help/solution wil b appreciated, Thnx in advance

I got this phone 2 weeks ago and so far Im pleased. Anyway there are 2 things Id like to know:
- It cant read PDF nor Office documents? Didnt work on mine =/
- I tried so many Java apps, none of them worked. Any good site for Java apps or some widgets for this phone?

How do you change the alarm tone and how can you put phone on slient for call's but yet still hear you alarm. Never had this problem with a cell before please reply

I love the phone but I don't think the battery power is as good as the specs say. 450 hours is 18 days.
I bought the phone on a saturday and let the battery run down before first charge on the monday. I obviously looked at the phones facilities a few times and made about twenty minutes of calls and a few texts and also received about five calls but on the wednesday the charge looked like it was just under half, I received a text and then sent one and then the charge indicater showed empty but no warning sound. I was given a replacement battery by the car phone warehouse and am waiting for it to run down before the first charge on my end.
Whats realistic about the battery life etc? Any tips and hints would be appreciated

H... moreYou can also turn off the startup beep in the profile settings as mentioned (this is just a main menu (as in the root menu after the title screen) item called profile, not in the settings menu) to get to what you need you first need to select the general profile options, and then go to edit, the settings you are looking for are in a tab to the right of the ring tones tab you see at first.
I got the phone a few days ago btw, and after I figured out how to fix the way my phone company set up the java application settings, I have been quite happy with it. It's looks like the best keyboard phone for the money (and one of the few available). I still need to get a case for it (I plan to buy a blackberry curve leather clip case for it, as they seem to be nearly the same size, and you can get them for cheap), which is probably the largest downside from my last cheap erickson flip phone (which was also a really good phone, mostly due to sony's good UI).
