what an idiot! philips arent japs! they are from germany. And for ur info, they are the no.1 corparation in europe! their earnings are more than some countries! Just an eg. on their achivement, they co-founded the cd(that means compact disc if u dont understand) technology. and they just recently came up with a camera lense that works like a human eye, it focus almost as fast(meaning way faster than electronic camera lenses), its liquid based and it consummes 1 million times less electricity then current ones and guess what, this is good news for phones cause its bloody small too. so please shut up if dont know shit. u are embarassing the literates...

I'm sorry but where do you read that alcatel OT835 has mp3 ringtones, and you're right this is not a fair comparation. These models are totally different.

are you sure, philips polyfonic ring tones are better than alatel's mp3 ones? you must be nuts!! besides I just found out tha philips changed the Mp camera to a regular VGA one! I really don't think this is a fair comparation... (the alcatel wins obviously)

Hey, Philips are good for television, radios, DVD PLAYER, MP3, and so and so
Alcatel doesnt make tv and stuff like, that but what they do make are modums, internet connections and also Computer designs for PACKARD BELL, COMPACTQ, HEWITT PACKARD, also thet make Phones with camera and video funtion aswell as Mp3 Melodies, Philips dont make computers
so i think there as good as eachother

well miquel, it isnt that nessary that the philips 855 can put photos on tv screen, i mean, what a wast of time, wow, video is a better function, lol, with that phone you need a tv!!!!!!!

Hahahahah, you can't compare phones with just the standard info and images. When the phones will come to the market then you can compare them really good. 262K colors, camera with video aren't that neccesary, but nice. I have to admit that. But I bet philips battery life is longer, better polyphonic ringtones, more memory (7MB) and the 855 has the ability to show the pictures on a tv set. And you can't say that the design of alcatel is better. They've improved but the philips 855 design is better, be fair. And there ins't any other clamshell on the european market which can open 180 degrees. Some have tried but they had problems. Philips fixed the problems.

external 4096 dislay
alcatel ot835
internal 265k display
external 65k display...
now can you see the diference? besides the 1mp camera, the philips loses! like someone said before, it records videos (the philips doesn't) and it's smaller, plus, in my opinion, it's much more actractive

Henrique (also known as PORTUGAL) You really are an idiot aren't you? so philips has an internal 65k color display, alcatel has an 265k one!, philips has a 4096 external display, so what?? alcatel has a 65k color one! alcatel has a VGA camera, but it has video capturing, besides its estimated price is about €250/300, and I dont belive the phillips will be cheaper (about €400), so I really think you screwed when you started to compare these phones, because, if you keep in mind the huge price diference, you will easily see the alcatel is better,

Philips 855 has a 4096 color screen as a second display...Where can i find a alcatel phone with that?
And a 1.3 Mega resolution camera?
That "unknown" guy only say bad, about the other phones, wich they are better, but he fogets that this alcatel is worse...
