gps works like a charm .

compass doesn't work well .
i tried several programs but none of them worked well,
i noticed that any compass i tried gets the south direction instead of the north , and the same for the west and east .
May anyone tried a keen compass tell us about ?

xaxin_x, 14 Feb 2013have you try installing from a wifi connection? I think usi... moreno i never tried with wifi. i only use my 3G line to download everything from the playstore..i'll try with your suggestion, thank u so much for the info. hope it can solve the problem..

the actual site of alcatel didnot mentioned anything about rams of the device, but the phone has 1 giga ram , and it has about 2.5 giga of internal storage divided to 1.5 to the apps and 1 giga for the personal usage like songs v.clips and photos.

Im gonna buy this one. Can somebody who owns this please tell me what is the actual RAM value of this 997D phone? (Cos the alcatel site says 512 but our local agents site says 1 GB.)

Hello, i have this phone for a few weeks and i never had a problem with apps like whatsapp and viberand i have both of them running nicely.
Overall the phone works great and only the compass is inacurate. Apart from that everything is great on this phone and totally worth the money i spent to buy it.

im from malaysia and bought this phone 5 days ago. it was a great phone but unfortunately many of the apps in google play cant be used or installed like whatsapp, viber, line. only nimbuzz, yahoo msgr can use for this phne. GO themes also cant be installed. and the thing i hate most about this phone is its also cant support korean language..ill try to install locale language from the market to make it possible, its useless. im planning to sell it bck if this problem still ca

About the e-compass i mentioned that it works fine. I've compared it to other devices and they all gave near results.
Adding to that that all the programs that detect hardware show an e-compass supported.
Regarding the price it's EGP 1599 in Rizkalla stores and you can get it out of Rizkalla for fifty pounds less as I did (got it EGP 1550).
Regarding my experience with the phone....it's simply wonderful.
