Hello
I have it for about 3 weeks. It's an amazing phone. There is just one issue. When you assign an mp3 for ringtone, either for the phone or for specific contacts, either the sound is on your phone's memory or the SD card, when you connect it to the PC or when you restart the phone, the ringtones goes back to the default. This is a bug of android. In later Gingerbread versions it was fixed but each company by itself. It seems this phone has this problem also. In the next update they say they will correct it. All 997's have it and many other phones (HTC Desire or Sensation, Samsung Galaxy Nexus or Nexus S, Motorola Droid etc)

Really love Alcatel phones but they're really hard to come by in Nigeria :'( .they last quite long

Them samsung is stripped down compared to 997d.997d is a much better and faster phone. The camera is excellent and yes it has a video light. Get the Alcatel. It is much better than any dual sim Samsung phone and much cheaper too. I spent 12 hours in hong kong comparing phones before i bought this one. The more i use it the happier i am.

Both my lenovo phones broke after 4 to 6 weeks. The Alcatel 997d is much much faster. The camera is way better (8mp vs 5mp) and it is fast and has a flash. I bought the lenovo 700p in the philippines for approximately $300 usd and got the 997d in hong kong for $200usd. Its strange cause the 997d is considerably better.

want to know, 31 Dec 2012Guys, can install adobe flash or not? hows the sound, is it loud?Flash is always a tricky thing. You can install flash but need to use the firefox or dolphin browser. Flash works slow and not very reliable. The speakers are ok. Not super loud but better than other android phones.

this phone sometimes hangs even after adding another 32 gb external memory, transferring applications from internal memory to 32 gb external memory looks difficult it failed to move stating not enough memory but it still has 29gb external. wow

HI,
Does this phone have notification that will blink if there is a msg, while the phone is in a sleep mode?
Very important to me cause don't like to keep on waking up the phone to see if there is a msg.
