Great phone AND FOR 20 POUNDS!!! and btw If you cant put music on - you need to make a folder on your memory card called MP3 ( with MP in caps )

Does this phone have a loudspeaker? Because the newer version(E805) does have a loudspeaker...

Yes the headphones do come with the phone.... But they connect through the USB mini port... So you cannt use your own headphones... But if you wait for the E805 to come out, which will be soon, it has a better design and it has a 3.5mm jack so that you can use your own headphones. :)

I think the E805 is a myth....I think alacatel were going to release it, then they released this....

Girlfriend got the samsung for £20 from woolies and there was no card supplied. we got a 1Gb card fro ebay and couldnt play music either, so in Xp formated the card FAt32 (not Quick format)created a folder called MP3 added files to the folder and presto!

I am thinking about getting one of these phones... But im not sure which colour to get it in... Which colour is the best to get it in? Black, white or orange? Although to get the orange version would be difficult seen as its not sold as much as the white and black versions....
Also has this phone got 64 channel polophony?

Well that is good - that means that the connection is being established between your phone and the PC.
When that happens next time just wait a couple of minuters so that your PC will recognize the memory card and instal the drivers.
After that just go to My Computer and there you will see an icon saying Removable Disk. Click on it and copy all the music in the MP3 folder inside the removable disk. After that simply just unplug the cable from the phone and you are done.THERE IS YOUT MUSIC.

I bought this phone from woolworths,i have formatted the sd card but still the mp3 player is not working.i have tried to activate the usb but i get a msg"usb connecting!cannot play the music now".

GSMARENA should get a new picture for this phone... The one they have doesnt look very good... They should get all 3 pictures of the colours it comes in. This phone comes in Black, White and Orange... They all look really nice!

No way of putting a song as a ringtone.
I tried every possibility with the mp3 convertor on Alcatel's site including making the song 4 sec. long and at 16 kb/s.
No use - the phone doesn't have the possibility to read the songs from the card and then to play them as ringtones.

When I try to connect the phone to the computer I get the message - Unknown device, no driver is instaled.
Previously I was able to connect the phone to the computer.
Is this maybe due to the fact that now I have only SP1 and then I had SP2 or is it just a phone probleme?
Are there any drivers to download from somewhere?

If you go to www.tcl-ta.com or www.my-onetouch.com (they are the same website) on the home page there is a picture of this mobile and it says: "MP3 converter/PC suite", click on it and it should take you to the download page. So then you should be able to make MP3 ringtones and other things.
