well, I gave 28 euros on this phone from orange. there was a sagem and they had sagem my401x at ~50 euros, sagem my600x at 106 euros. so that's the situation here. btw 801 has the same battery as e260.

This phone is around £30-40 and the Sagem My600v is around £50.... So for £10 or £20 your getting a lot more....
Im not saying this phone is bad, it is a good phone, but i just think that the battery could of been a little better than it is....Well music wise anyway....

J... sagem my600v is a 3G phone and other crap. have you wondered: IS THE PRICE THE SAME? I don't think so. maybe that phone is 4-5 time more expensive than this one. and another fact: the 3G function kills the phone's battery.

For anyone who was wondering, this phone can play music for up to 6 hours.... Most other MP3 player capable phones available can off much more than this. For example the Sagem MY600v can play music up to 17 hours! Almost 3 times as much as this phone can....

cirozel is right. i just bought this phone. the mp3's are loud and it haves an equalizer (my panasonic x700 can't play mp3, i put ultramp3 and the mp3s are too low, it's very hard to hear them) i don't know if you should use mobile phones (how can you say it sucks if you don't know how to use a phone). stick to the home wired phones.

DON'T BUY IT!!! It's really not as good as it looks! The MP3 player is sooo quiet that you have to press the headphones to your ears to even hear something! It's got really slow software and sometimes can be really frustrating to search for something! Take my advice and don't buy it! Oh and one more thing :) the black is the most elegant. The other two look too plastic and brakeable :) and the keyboard sux! :)
P.S: Sorry Alcatel but thats the painful truth! ;)

I'm about to buy mine. I'm thinking of sell me V3 to buy this one! I don't need camera, brand or fashion; I only need some usable phone/mp3-player and that it's price taste good! I think that this the best phone for me! On March 20' it will begin to sell here in Brazil, and its the cheapest phone with mp3 here (only US$ 160).

Read alot of postings saying that they cant play Mp3 or that the USB doesn't work. Well I think I hav cracked it. The USB conn is not Version 2 compatible so u will have to connect to the slower V1.1 if u have them.U do need SP2 on Win XP for it to recognize it.Format the Card,Make New folder call "MP3"
Down load Alcatel MP3 converter from http://www.tctmobile.com and off u jolly well go.

USB "PROBLEM SOLVED" Alright; after i read the other opinions theres something that i want that the other customers knows.
About the usb "Unkown device" this is a problem of hardware. this phone have an integrated chip that its not so Plug & Play cuz the interface simply doesnt have all the parameters of Universal USB port Devices.
To fix the USB problem just get in on the bios of your Motherboard, you know. must find the USB Enables option & change your configuration tu USB Port Enabled but you turned off the recognizer of USB 2.0(try slowin down the speed First)maybe it wors with your MotherBoard model the mine was an Intel 865GBF & i Has just enabled the USB Ports (SO, I GOT THE THE PROBLEM SOLVED)

This phone is OK. Its nice, hard and the MP3 sounds great.
But many things can b improoved: you cannot browse folders in player nor ff along the songs and it doesn't remember the last song you where listening at. In addition the menus from alcatel have not improved since the first one they made. On the other hand there are some usefull features missing like chrono, button programing et al.
By now, I could not figure out how the T9 did work in catalan for this phone...
