You can't make it your unit but you can make it your PC. You can also download it from the net e.g. this url => http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/splat/l/blframes1.htm. I can also share you if you want, just email me at nelson_maus@yahoo.com.

Did your friend try to press right once more even if he reached the end of the screen in the options menu?

About the stamps... I am not sure if you can make your own stamps and frames... you might be able but I am not sure as I said... the included software of the phone might have that function... but I never used it.

Knight Rider, my nokia-user friend was convinced with this phone and bought S853 immediately without inquiring from me and unfortunately purchased a 177 firmwared unit. I tried to switch off the network clock of his unit but that menu is not available. So, from clock menu, when you scroll to the right his unit only have until "Display format" submenu, no "Network Clock" option as 18b firmwared have. He did not bother to upgrade it as he will have to pay Php 350 or USD 7.4 for the upgrade. Anyway, he is music lover and got no problem with mp3 and fm music from his unit. He got no problem with text and call function too.

Are you sure Nelson? I am quite positive that you can switch it off even in older models?

This is to remind all users of OT S853 that "switching off network clock" option as given by Knight Rider is not applicable to those units with firmware below 188 or 18b.

No, the bluetooth does NOT work for file sharing, the new Alcatel models that are seen on the Alcatel page of gsmarena.com do support that though. But not this S853, this is known for over a year now... as yes amazingly this phone is already over a year old... still it looks mighty fine.

To switch of the network messages... go to --->>My settings--->>more settings--->>networks--->>SMS CB--->> then choose reception "none".

For the network clock... do this: My settings--->>clock--->> then scroll with the D-pad to the right (press right 3 times) and choose under Network clock "none".

That's it... for more info feel free and mail me at un112@msn.com.

                    Knight Rider,

! about the battery. You can enhance it a little bit by swtiching of the network clock and network messages if you don't use it. That way the phone will not be looking for updates and will save power.

                    How can we do that?

                    Thanks a lot!

The Alcatel S853 supports cards up to 1 gb! Older firmware versions were designed for 512 mb... but with the new software version that was upped to 1 gb. You can not share videos through bluetooth, however you can by infrared!

elma, I'm from cebu so I don't have idea about the price in manila. But just visit versatile. I'm sure they are selling it with the price same as in RC GOLDLINE here in cebu.

Jerico, if you really don't want to charge your phone daily, the best thing that you should do is:
                          1. activate your voice mail box so that your caller can leave their messages for you.
                          2. Turn your phone off when not in use. Turn it on only if you use it.

While your phone is off, your caller can leave their message and you can retrieve that message when you turn your phone off.

How to charge Cellphone via USB:

connect the miniUSB to your cellphone

and the USB (the big plug) connect it to the PC's USB port slightly,
The big USB plug has 4 connectos inside it, so if u connect it slightly, so only 2 connectors will make connection, and the cellphone will connect and charge.

                              do I make myself clear?

u connect the Big plug slightly and make the 2 connectors from the ends to plug and then fully insert the USB, see ur s853 and it will charge :D

Yes ofcourse you can hook it up to a hifi receiver... and I don't know about other peoples hifi sets, but with me the sound is awesome... about the battery. You can enhance it a little bit by swtiching of the network clock and network messages if you don't use it. That way the phone will not be looking for updates and will save power.

                                    @regie
Yes, you can connect the phone to any speaker with a standard headphone jack.
Although the included headphone and the speakers on the phone perform well enough on their own.

The sound won't get any better even if hook up to a hi-fi set though.
