my ot-s853 phone cannot send or receive messeges.i already cehcked my messege service number, and its ok, i erased all my messeges saved already.the warning shows when sending messege is "out of memory unable to send" and when i cange my simcard the warning also shows "not enough memory for new messeges. please email the steps or procedure of what im going to do since we dont hev serice or repair ststion hir.my phone has still 63% phone memory free.

The phone ain't rubbish nor it is litter.
You just ain't reading the forum. Some models do support the 1 GB card, the others meanwhile don't. It is up to the firmware.

it weerd i buyd a 1 gig card pud it in and it didnt work it says 165 mb left and i tried it in my brothers phone and it did it well so the phone is rubbish

Yeah, it seems that Alcatel 853 keeps on surprising us. Unfotunately, not from the good side only. I only hope that my phone will be refurnished with a new firmware the I can tell how it should work. If it works perfectly, well , it means that the firmware is responsible for everything. If not, them there is a question: how much time does the TCL need to bring the phone to a normal state? It seems, one year is not enough then. Pitty, because in my country my GSM provider has already offered a free 3G service until September. And Alcatel has no 3G phones yet. If it goes on like this, I might get a chance to buy a 3G Alcatel next year the earliest, because no announcements have benn declared yet regarding a 3G phone from branded Alcatel.
Sad though.

Its hard to believe too, 128 mb card of mine shows only 16KB of capacity when i try to format it with pc, and even if i try to format it, it failed. dunno. never happened before. About the shop owner card, its likely corrupt too, cos the second time i put it to my phone, it cannot read too. but i dont confirm it to the shop owner. my bad.

Strange issue. I removed and installed my memory card for about a hundret times, using both hot swat and cold swap, and nothing bad happened. And my phone does not support the 1 GB card either. Are you sure those cards were damaged? Have you tried formatting them with a PC? I can't believe the cards can be destroyed so quickly :(

Sorry, wrong information. Looks like my s853 destroy 2 memory card, mine (128mb) and the shop owner (512). Thanks God the phone allright. Before i often hot swap the mem card and nothing happens, maybe just bad luck my phone destroy 2 mem card cos of hot swap. From now on i always shut down the phone before change mem card. U too be carefull.

AW, It helped me on my Bro's PC, i see that this utility has no effect on my rig, and i'm still getting this same error..
anyways, Is there a way to hide the operator's name/text?

Regarding PIXMANIA.
In fact, they may be selling the black version instead of silver (as still indicated in their website), they may sell older firmware products, but nevertheless my contact person in Pixmania showed a great deal of willing to help me regarding the 853. So my phone is going back to PIXMANIA right now. I may say they have a very good after sales support, and just perhaps made a marketing mistake regarding the sale of Alcatels with an older firmware.
So far so good, but we will se what they will answer.

To all people, there is an online version available of the pcsuite software on the Danish Alcatel site...
Also, it is clearly visible that there are some major differences in the phones from protel and the other shops (like pixmania). The German version of the phone (protel one) clearly says in the manual that 1 GB cards are compatible with the phone... and as some German buyers have already confirmed... the 1 GB cards work on their phone... and the phones are more reliable then the others... Please German buyers correct me if I am wrong, but I am also talking from my own experience here... as my phone is working good so far, no major crashes or sudden shut downs.

Today i go to shop to buy mini sd car, i try 1 gb card and my s853 only recoqnise 308 MB of it, i ask for 512 mb card but the shop doesn't have it, but the owner has it in his pda and lend it to me just to see if my phone detect it. i try 512 mb card that the shop owner lend to me and the phone detect it, but after i remove it, and insert my own 128 MB card, the phone can't detect it, it says: no memory card detected. i try insert the shop owner's 512 mb card and still the phone can't detect it.
I turn off the phone, open the battery, open the 128 card, and reattach all again, but still the phone cant detect. the phone cant format the card too as if no card inside. i attach the usb cable, the pc can detect removeable disk, but if i click the removable disk folder, my pc says: Insert disk, please insert disk to drive G.
The 128mb card is fine so the problem must be from my phone but i dont know how to solve it.
Anyone know how to solve this?
Also i tried AccessDeniedUtility_1_3_4, but my sempron still fail in installation

ERROR 1603 - IS ACTUALLY ERROR 1406 ALCATEL PC SUIT:
After recieving this error on 2 computers I've searched for a solution on the internet and after a long search, I've managed to fix this problem using this tool:

So, if any of you got this same issue, try running this tool, and see if it resolves the problem.

Yeah, having updated firmware would be great :)
Don't think it is possible though.
My phone's on the journey back to Pixmania. On the next week I hope for the good info regarding it. We will see.

I'm from Israel, and I ordered this phone from Thailand, i checked in the manual like you said and it says upto 512mb minisd cards.. :(
the problem is that i need to protect this phone since i got no service/repair station here, and my provider (orange) won't deal with it.. (like today i asked them for my gprs settings, when they heard that i'm using this 'weird' phone they kinda hung-up)
anyways, now i need to return the 1gb card and replace it for a 512mb one. sad day.

i have 2 pc, amd athlon xp+ dan amd sempron, with my athlon pc suite 4.17 works perfectly, but with amd sempron, only data connection wizard, one touch sync, one touch sync setting works, the other fail at installation , error 1603.
Any one have the pach to fix this problem? thank you

Eli: Did you buy the phone at Pixmania? If you did it seems that those phones have a different firmware... also check the manual you got along with the phone? What does that say about SD cards? How much does it support?
I bought mine at Protel and so far so good! No big problems to be honest... and the GERMAN manual clearly says that 1GB cards are supported (in the German phones).
To all Dutch people: The phone will be available (hopefully) this month in the shops, if you choose not to wait you should buy your phone at Protel, they have a great warranty service and they offer a good deal on the phone (they include a 256 mb SD card for a short period of time as a gift to all waiting fans of the phone). But be aware, the phones that are imported do NOT have the DDutch language.

Regarding Java games.
I think you can send the games to the memory card and download them to the phone from there. Then you can launch the application. It should work, if it is compatible with the phone.
