All iPhone 13 models to get upgraded ultrawide camera with f/1.8 optics
Apple will bring a new ultrawide angle camera with a brighter f/1.8 lens to all iPhone 13 models, according to a note by Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis and Thomas O'Malley.
That information differs from a previous report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said only the Pro models will get the new camera.
The new f/1.8 lens will increase the amount of light reaching the sensor over the f/2.4 lens used on current iPhone ultrawides.
It's also likely that Apple will increase the sensor size of the new ultrawide angle cameras as the current 1/3.6" fades when compared to the Galaxy S21 Ultra's 1/2.55" or the Huawei Mate 40 Pro's mammoth 1/1.54".
The Barclays analysts' report goes on to say that Apple will continue using the 12MP f/2.2 65mm 2.5x camera, exclusive to this year's 12 Pro Max, in the iPhone 13 series and will extend it from the Pro Max to the Pro as well.
Industry sources report that Apple will stick to the formula of a 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch iPhones with two cameras and a 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch iPhones with triple cameras.

That's intentional. It's completely normal that more expensive models are better.
