AltStore PAL is now free thanks to Epic Games grant
Nearly four months after its initial launch, AltStore PAL is dropping its €1.50 subscription fee thanks to a “MegaGrant” from Epic Games. This means that users based in the European Union can now install the third-party app store on their iOS and iPadOS devices free of charge.
The installation process is straightforward, you’ll need an iPhone running iOS 17.4 or later or an iPad on iPadOS 18 beta with your region set to an EU country. You can then head over to AltStore’s downloads section and follow the onscreen prompts. Existing subscribers will not be charged upon their next renewal date.
AltStore plans to use the new grant from Epic Games to cover Apple’s Core Technology Fee which entails a €0.50 fee for each first annual install per year over a 1 million threshold. Epic Games previously confirmed it plans to bring its game portfolio including hit title Fortnite to the AltStore for iOS and iPadOS users in the EU.

Steam doesn't do exclusives. Neither does GOG. Only Epic does this BS. If some dev only releases game on Steam it's not because of contract, they simply decided to only release it on Steam. Or GOG for that matter.
