Amazfit announces Active and Active Edge smartwatches

Amazfit’s latest smartwatch offerings are here with two new styles. Amazfit Active features stylish aluminum alloy and stainless steel casing options, GPS tracking and on-device Bluetooth calling. Active Edge is a more rugged offering with a reinforced polycarbonate shell that is 10 ATM water resistant and focuses on activity tracking.

Amazfit Active

Amazfit Active features a square 1.75-inch AMOLED display with 390 x 450px resolution. The device has silicone and vegan leather strap options and offers 5 ATM water resistance.

You get Bluetooth 5.2 BLE with support for Bluetooth calling from you paired smartphone as well as Amazon Alexa and an offline voice assistant that runs natively on the watch. Zepp OS supports third-party apps and mini-games downloadable from the Zepp App on your phone. You can also store up to 250MB of Music directly on the watch.

Health tracking is handled by the BioTracker PPG biometric sensor with support for heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep and stress tracking. You also get access to Zepp Coach with personalized exercise plans, workouts and recovery schedules. The watch also boasts a built-in GNSS receiver with support for GPS, QZSS, BEIDOU, GALILEO and GLONASS.

Amazfit Active key specs

There’s a 300 mAh battery which is advertised to last up to 14 days with normal use and 16 hours with continuous GPS usage.

Amazfit Active comes in Midnight Black, Petal Pink and Lavender Purple colors and is priced at $150. It is available from Amazfit US and is scheduled to arrive in more regions soon.

Amazfit Active Edge

Active Edge gets a 1.32-inch TFT LCD with 360 x 360px resolution and four physical buttons for easier controls. The watch features a 10 ATM rating making it clear for dives up to 100 meters. There are 100+ watch faces to choose from and activity tracking for over 130 sports with automatic workout recognition.

Watc supports Bluetooth 5.0 BLE connectivity and the same BioTracker PPG optical sensor and GNSS receiver from the Amazfit Active. The battery here is 370 mAh which should last up to 16 days with normal use and 20 hours on GPS.

Active Edge is available in Lava Black, Midnight Pulse and Mint Green colors and is set at $140. It is available from Amazfit US and will come to more regions soon.
