Analyst: don't hold out for an iPhone SE refresh

Peter, 17 July 2017

iPhone SE (2017)? Not so fast – analyst Pan Jiutang believes the small screen phone will be a one-off. If you’re keen on a 4-incher, buy an old SE or 5c, he recommends.

As for the 2017 iPhones, Pan points out that manufacturers want to hit the 5.5” mark as that is where most smartphone sales are. There will be an iPhone smaller than that, but it will be the 4.7” iPhone 7s.

And Apple is expected to go even bigger with the “iPhone 8”, which will change the aspect ratio (something we haven’t seen since the iPhone 5 in 2012).
