Android 7.0 Nougat goes out on August 22, Canadian carrier says

Vlad, 18 August, 2016

Last month famed leakster Evan Blass told us to expect the final release of Android 7.0 Nougat to hit sometime in August. Now that we're past the halfway point of the month, you might be wondering whether that's still happening.

And the answer is a resounding yes, at least according to one Canadian carrier. Telus' software update list for the following period says both the Huawei Nexus 6P and the LG Nexus 5X are going to start receiving the update to Nougat on August 22, which is next Monday.

The image above shows the carrier's information. Obviously there may be some unforeseen last minute delays, but if there aren't any then we should probably expect the update to Android 7.0 Nougat to go out to all supported devices next week. As usual though, expect the over-the-air rollout to take a while, especially since this is Google we're talking about and this is one company that loves taking its time in getting new software out.
