It’s just that the iPad Air and Pro have laminated displays with antireflective coating. But the display of the iPad 9 still does the job well.
For the bending, I‘d refer to the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel. The bending was a topic since the iPad Pro first introduced this flat design in 2018. However, it seems like people just accepted it. I‘m just a bit sad that the last iPad that did not bend as much has been replaced with an iPad that can be bent while keeping the non-laminated display, which I previously thought was the reason for it not bending as much.
I think the reason why Apple does not laminate the display is to make repairs cheaper, because the glass can be replaced independently from the display. That is helpful in educational environments towards which the „cheap“ iPad is marketed.

I still don’t like this device. I feel it combines the worst of the iPad Air (bending, no headphone jack, camera bump, high price that‘s made to upsell) and the iPad 9 (display) together with some unique disadvantages (Apple Pencil not connectable without a cable + adapter).
If they want to redeem this mess, they‘d have to add normal Apple Pencil 2 support (and keep Apple Pencil 1 supported) and lower the price.
However, I would prefer if they eliminated this device, dropped the price of the Air and updated the iPad 9 with a new processor, maybe call it iPad SE then. iPad Air 5 could stay exactly the same just with a lower price, like the MacBook Air M2 2022 was reduced by $100 in 2023.

I bought mine from CeX for 350 bucks. Previous owner was a brat who sold it in a tantrum after 2 days because mummy and daddy didn’t get her the pink one. My 9th generation one I bought 6 months ago was 500 bucks. So a brand new IPad 10 for 350 bucks in brand new condition with a 24 month warranty I have no complaints about it. Takes a little getting used to the home button built into the screen and the screen gesture that replaces the old double click. Beautiful screen, great addition of proper stereo speakers and USB C connectivity

I am fully satisfied with this tablet, the keyboard and the pencil even if it is a little bit more expensive than the previous model.

This is by no means a bad tablet, however what made the baseline iPad great and popular was it’s value-for-money, sadly that was taken away in this 10 gen
For almost any usecase (except mayybe software longevity) you’re better off buying either the iPad 9 or any iPad with the new design

I don't even know what to say, everything about this iPad just looks and seems off. At least with the previous model that I have, it had a home button and a headphone jack if needed. So much empty space for no reason. The price is far too much for what you get in/on the device.
The 9th gen when I got it on release cost about £319, and I think for a solid entry level tablet that price is good especially when I know I'm gonna keep it for another 2/3 years. Better to buy an older flagship tablet from Apple or the 9th gen tbh
