That's why you'd see apple devices always beating androids in day to day performance with sometimes worse specs. They cut way too many corners to reach there, it's also why their hardware manufacturing can be relatively cheap (no constant need to upgrade hardware).

In this case an upgraded iPad Air. It probably would have had its own event if it did have the A10X and be called iPad Pro 2. Why did you think it was released on the sly. This is the SE of the iPad World. Just a reincarnated iPad Air with Air 2 features such as the Touch ID, speaker grilles, cameras and volume buttons. Last but not least, the A9 chip from the iPhone 6s/SE.
