You get 5g and 10hrs of continuous tethering battery. You can auto tether to iPhone. Its battery is beyond all known portable hotspot device i know.
The only hotspot device that have better battery is xiaomi zmi lte hotspot + battery bank hybrid. Which is basically a 10000mah power bank. And 4g only. and you need to keep turning it on when you need it for your iPhone.

Hi all, I would like to ask if I want use for travelling overseas (need use overseas sim), which version is better? 64gb/256gb? Wifi/cellular? Any suggestion? Should use cellular or use iPhone hotspot? But how about change SIM card? How about battery while hotspot?

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2021Yes, we understand that you got one but you do not apprecia... moreI hated the tiny text and many apps do not render well-defeats the purpose as I got it so that I do not have to squint AND scroll/magnify to view pages-see the reviews (that is the major complaint - that the apps have not been designed for it and that the OS was just thrown in without much re-work for a new aspect ratio) I also saw overlapping text ! ...but not jello effect. Changing the text size only changes it in certain areas. Was disappointed to know that I could not re-size keyboard (BASIC thing) as in make bigger from default (not all the videos that show you how to make it smaller. float and resize back to normal) - no matter which keyboard app I choose it took the same area on the screen. FAIL! So I sold it. Got that?

No calling facility on Sim, no audio jack port. Too much price for everything, the pencil extra( 10000). Sim mode extra ( 12000), keyboard extra (28000) and almost all apps from appstore are with a price tag

I got one for a relative-but have to sell now. Tried it for a short period-no jello effect at all! Think it is an issue on some builds only. Perfect device (though I don't need it at the moment). It is the 256GB 5G cellular model.

But some people, and merely few these days, use the iPad to read text, books or web pages with a lot of text, in order to educate themselves or to feed their thirst for knowledge. Such people scroll up and down the text to check and compare text paragraphs and for them the jelly effect is annoying like turning pages in a paper book which are stuck together or misprinted.
So the jelly effect affects only the minority which is the educated people.

So on landscape mode there would ... moreFor iPad mini 6 (last ver) there is no jelly effect on landscape but VERY strong on portrait with small fonts of text rows (vertical orientation), practically curving the with one inch right from left on slow scroll !!! like being from rubber (please check it in a store, it is NOT overblown, the fact Apple got to comment defensively is an acknowledgement from them without a possibility to fix it, being hardware).
For iPad mini 5 (prior ver) there is NO jelly effect on portrait (vertical orientation, as you keep it for reading any small screen) and it has a slight, minor jelly effect on landscape (but you usually use such landscape for watching movies not reading text, and for movies it is not visible any defect).
The reason for such STRONG effect is documented on youtube, they used for iPad mini 6:
1. refresh raster controller was rotated 90 degrees vs iPad mini 5, bad engineering decision or Apple found a cost saving "deal" to buy such controllers meant for horizontal (landscape refresh like in laptops)
2. cheaper LCD screen which cannot keep up with the refresh rate of the LCD controller on motherboard and left echo, artifacts.
Just tooting 120 Hz refresh (in the controller chip on motherboard, of course) but saving dollars on LCD screen is an advertising trick like selling 50 Mega pixels cameras with small cheap glass lenses which blur all shots.
The price for chips (controllers) using high frequency decreased fast in last years but the cost to manufacture good LCD or OLED screens is still high.

Yes, there is jelly scrolling in portrait, because of 2 factors,
1. Fast processor, thus the animation is very smooth coupled with 60hz refresh only. Compare to older iPads with jerky animation when scrolling, it is more obvious.
2. Placement of the sensor.
iPad Mini 4 / 5 have it but its in landscape mode, and due to the aging processor scrolling slower, its effect is minimised. Even Android tablets have this, even those 120hz.. if you are picky.
People argue that iPad mini is a small device, thus mainly using in portrait.. thus the displeasure.
On top of that, iPhone 13 have 120hz, and they see no reason why iPad mini should not have 120hz.. having 120hz will further reduce the effect.
But my take to this is simple, go to the store and try the tablet normally. (Do not go there just to view the effect). Do simple things, web browsing, play demo games, do some drawing.. make sure it is acceptable.
Jelly effect on this iPad mini has minimum impact IMO due to my usage. Video media consumption, comic reading, note taking.. none was impacted by the jelly scrolling. I do not go scrolling up and down endlessly and annoy myself.

Cellular model can use as mobile hotspot with very long ... moreWent to the store and checked its screen: the rumors are true, even a slow scroll will produce the jelly effect on iPad mini 6, scrolling faster to the right side and turning the rows with text in curved rows, horrible, VERY visible effect. My iPad mini 5 does not have such effect on portrait AT ALL, tough it is visible, slightly only on landscape, much less visible even so. So they switched the screen refresh from landscape to portrait and now iPad mini 6 cannot be used in portrait mode as any small screen is used. It is a no go product, a dumb one.

No, not all sim cards will enable wifi hotspot on ipads, the network can limit this use so you cant use any personal sim but instead has to pay extra for a data sim that will enable sharing. On iphone its different, you can always share data from a personal sim.

2G has been removed
