iPad mini 4 can't keep up with heavy games anymore, particularly Gacha games.
The last time I played Genshin Impact on this device was 1.5 years ago. It was able to run, and I could play the game, but it struggled a lot. The Graphics setting in the game were set to the lowest possible, and the resolution was pixelated, but it still wasn't smooth. The game runs at around like 15fps or lower, and it crashes (kicks me out of the app) frequently.
Now, based on my past experience with this device, I can tell it can't keep up with the game's new updates anymore. It can't even run or start the application of Wuthering Waves.
However, cloud streaming games like Genshin Impact • Cloud and GeForce NOW Web version, can still run cloud games pretty well on this device. (Cloudmoon and OneTap are unavailable in iOS, but they are also cloud game streaming app in Android or other type of device. If anyone can't install or run their favorite games in their device, they can use these apps to play it.)

Would be nice if Apple had some competition for small high-end tablets, 2015-2017 was really the end of small flagship tablets, and now we really only see low-end/low mid-range contenders like A7 Lite, A9 (not plus), Walmart, and some no-name brands

It was possible to play Genshin Impact on the iPad Mini 4, but be warned.. It's very laggy. I saw a video of it and the clouds were not rendering properly.
So I'm assuming that this is a slightly overclocked version of the A8 chip and they never really got the updated Pixel shaders so playing modern games like Genshin Impact may be a problem and that's why.

This the iPad only which has Apple A8 but in iOS 15 lol, so, you could play GTA games on this iPad, but i can guarantee, you cannot play PUBG, Geshin Impact, COD, Asphalt 9 and some other high end games including (GTA DE trilogy) on this iPad. Watching videos is 👍 on this iPad and Music ofc. This iPad really cost low on my country (Bangladesh)…

iPad mini 4 can be worth buying but not really recommended for gaming, can has some trouble of loading the game, laggy in certain types of games

I own one its good for ytube and stuff but it's very bad for work. iOS is 12.57 max and is slow as he-lll. Personally, don't buy one in 2023 there are much better things like iPad air or something else.
