Apple iPad Pro 11 (2024) review

Design, build quality, handling

Meet the thinnest iPad so far! Apple has produced one incredibly thin and lightweight device featuring a 5mm thin aluminum unibody and durable screen glass.

Anyway, the iPad Pro offers a cool flat design, excluding the small camera on the back.

The front of the iPad Pro is occupied by the 11-inch Ultra Retina Tandem OLED screen. We have been hearing rumors of the purported switch to OLED for years, and it has finally happened. The bezels are not what we can call slim, but we do think they are perfect as they offer enough place for a good grip, one that will not obstruct your screen.

The ultrawide front camera and the Face ID are put on one of the long sides, centered above the screen. Face ID works in any tablet orientation.

The back of the iPad Pro is nicely clean of distractions. There is the glossy Apple logo, a small camera housing for the 12MP rear shooter, and the LiDAR system. We'd be the first to have the camera housing sitting flush with the back, but we guess part of the Pro moniker stays for LiDAR, which some people need, and the LiDAR is not small for sure.

The sides of the iPad Pro are thin and flat. There are four speakers around them, the usual power/lock key, volume keys, USB-C port and a magnetic holder for the Apple Pencil.

Overall, the iPad Pro appears to be an excellent tablet with an outstanding grip thanks to its aluminum body and matte finish. The 11-inch tablet is quite comfortable to operate in either orientation, and we did like our time spent working on it. We've seen on YouTube that it can bend and crack in the middle, so please, do not sit on it.

For being a quarter of the price, it nearly nails all the hardware that most people wont notice the difference between the two tablets. Only way iPad is better is cuz of its Apple software gimmicks and the "ecosystem".

Better at what? Being a doorstop?
