Wow so much disdain from people that don't own the phone.The question is why-is it a threat?Could it be that apple have managed to make a decent smartphone(albeit with less fuctionality than others)that is so much easier on the eye than any of nokia's smartphones or indeed their ridiculous status phones-8800 and the likes.Lets face it 7/10 people who own smartphones don't use them for compressing files,file sharing etc so why choose an ugly bland nokia when you can have a beautifully engineered I-phone.The teething problems will be ironed out and i'm certain the next chapter in apples dabble in the mobile phone sector will send shivers down the spine of the mighty nokia and their fanboy 'club'

it would make more sence if it was called "mp3 player with integrated phone" or "media player with mobile phone"

this phone is really nice. My friends told me that all the function of this phone is really mixed of office and music,games & etc....

No Regular Blue-tooth, No MMS, Voice mail style will change, You cant change battery by your self, No Video Recording, no mp3's supported , no mp3 ringtones supported , some people have returned it to various faults and low signal , have to pay for every single application u download to the apple inc. , doesnt support other symbian applications almost every application that supports this phone u have to buy em online ,

wht the f**k man i tried to buy this phone cuz it says its a smart phone but good that one of my friends brought it already and my life is saved i dont wanna f***ing pay for every compatible application i download to the f***ing apple inc. do i ??? this is a f***ing smart phone ohhh yes u should buy it yeees its greatest of all phones yees buy it and f**kup ur life go ahead ...

the truth is its just another phone with lot of disadvantages no pic messeges no mp3 no mp3 ringtones which u cant set ringtones as u want to and doesnt support java applications that are for free like symbian and we need to pay the apple company even to download an application for this phone ... simply just another product by apple which targets on the money ... its all about the money ... nothing else ... why at least they aint giving a free application for the ppl who use this phone this is so horrible from such a company who owns a big name like "apple" ... although this phones browser doesnt support java ... im one of the foolish customers who fall for this product and now im spending my life with this miserable phone ... and im telling this cuz i dont wanna make ur life the same ... the previous comment editor is right u guys and girls deserve a better phone than this ...

to vin thanks for your reply. Yup, the iphone gets really hot when surfing the net using the edge and it drains the battery so fast.

no video recording
no picture messaging
wont let u add more programs
no 3g
safari (internet surfer) doesn't support java or flash
camera has no auto focus or settings
no document editor
all those cons and they still have the guts to call it a smart phone

I dont know why anyone would buy this phone! You are extremely limited and the phone is a year old there is a new one coming out this January and it will be fast and supposedly better. But hey if you want a phone with horrible customer care and horrible warranty go for it. Dont blame AT&T either cause apple is in full control at&t just provides service!

About the WiFi issue - when u have an internet u can set up a password [security lock] so that no one else in the range of your router can access ur internet. U can set up this password by calling up your internet provider. You can find it in control panel - if look for network settings. Once u have that setup - u just need to feed that into your iphone and your good to go. One question for all the iphone users - i have heard that it gets to hot too soon and the battery lkife is horrible - what are your experiences?

iPhone is da best shyt ever !!!!!!!!Great screen nice GUI dammmit has an ipod integrated !!!!!!lots of music seriously the BEST of the BEST!~!!!Must buy!1! else ull regret it for sure!!!

pJ0x: Feeling angry on yourself, because you couldn't get a simple app working on a simple Symbian... hah, well then iPhone is clearly solution for you, no buttons and no third party applications.
And i'm sure all Apple apps will have a big colorfull user guide for you to read and possibly understand, heck, you may even be able to comprehend sending and mms, o sorry you cannot on iphone do that :)

why can't I use my wifi? I was trying to turn it on but they keep on asking a password? by the way, I use 2wire for the internet. where can I get the password? hope someone replies. thanks in advance-shippuden

Great design, (although copied from LG) the best user interface ever in a touch screen phone, and great music player. Thats about it. Its all in the marketing. Apple has way to many people thinking that this phone is so inovative. The only thing this phone has that is inovative is the ability to play You Tube on a slow network. Thats it people. If you want to make the ultimate I am cool statment then this is your phone. As for the rest of the world, we wont waste our money, and change service providers for a bunch of features that have been around for years.

Most symbian apps are pointless.Word/excel/powerpoint etc on the nseries is a standing joke.Then we have smartmovie and apps like that!Great if your unemployed and have 20/20 vision.I don't have the time to play about with silly nonsense applications so nokia n-series will never appeal to me.

I saw a lot of negative comments here, and I admit my first opinion of this device wasn't enthusiastic either.
There are just too many features it lacks compared to similar phones: GPS, Mp3 ringtones, a better cam and the like.
However, the phone seems to have a really nice concept and handling seems to be really cool - especially if one wants to replace an existing iPod it might be the right choice.
Anyway, this is the first version of iPhone - let's wait for a revision of it. I'm sure Apple is going to enhance the phone a lot. Just give them some time.

pJ0x: yet another narrow minded 60y grandpa. Yes keep talling that to yourself, instead of downloading an application for Symbian for $0, you will have pay money for application that should be free.
iPhone is just another money maker for Apple, they seam to have develop an unique business model - targeting not-so-bright people and luring them into belief that they are getting a better value, that costs a little more.
I havn't seen yet anoyne here admitting that iPhone makes a hole in your pocket, when it clearly does.
The same goes for Apple computers, for example forcing a user to pay for Quicktime in order to play movies in full screen - that is simply and clearly pathetic.

So many negative comments from people that clearly have/will never use an I-phone.How strange!Anyway if the I-phones main qualities are playing music,video playing,web browser,and its unique touchscreen that seems quite good to me.Symbian phones are ok but who seriously needs 30 3rd party applications on a small phone?!!The nokia symbian fraternity have FAR to much spare time on their hands.

iphone is alright... its not as good as the windows pocket pc's.. i tried the iphone for 3 days and i returned it cause its not good for business use. If your thinking about buying this iphone and replacing your existing pocket pc phone and blackberry.. i would say heck NO!! cause this phone stinks! i rather choose to buy the Nokia N75!!
