I once owned an iPhone, but returned it after 2 days.
The only thing I really liked about it was the Internet browser, this was great!

But with Opera mobile 9 and Microsoft Deepfish soon to be released, it makes the iPhone browser look ordinary.

I now have the at&t 8525 (known as the HTC TyTN).

The issues with the iPhone were:
        -The visual keyboard (too small),
-EDGE network (far to slow for such a nice browser),
-Contacts were hard to get to. (Scrolling was fun, but not really functional)
-Locked in applications...only Web based applications are allowed, no room for true growth.
-Camera with no features, not even zoom.
-Sound quality was too low, you could barely hear the person on the other end.

        -Great iPod features.

in summary, it was a good "looking" phone. but not worth $600.00 for all that it lacked.

I have written several reviews of phones that I feel are user friendly and by doing that I have recommended quite a few. This comment is not in any way geared towards the options or features available on the iphone. Personally I feel this innovation (even tho it was borrowed)is great but I would like those who are considering this or any other phone to follow their heart and not the opinions of anyone of us who review these smartphones. If all you care about on your phone is bluetooth capability then by all means get a phone that does that. Getting a $50 phone does not make you any less of a person than the individual who purchased the $500 iphone, Samsung, Sony Ericsson or any of the nokia N series (N93i,N95,N80,N91...). Your needs should drive your purchase and our opinions should only guide that future purchase.... have fun!

ive heard so many bad reviews about the iphone. might as wel wait for the sony ericsson w960i, chk the spec, much better, plus better camera as well from a more trusted manufacturer. the iphone will be dated by the time its released. as someone previously stated for more recent nokia or sony phones the iphone is not worth a second look into. stick to the walkman brand of sony ericsson. for the person going to america to buy it, i hear you can only get it on a 2yr contract with the network AT&T or something like that.... its not worth the hassle. if u want it dat bad, just wait for the uk/europe release

                        Someone asked:
"will i-phone work in countries other than usa on a local network cos only at-t has rights for it ???"

This has been answered on the iPhone forum multiple times

People, pay attention and don't be lazy. There is a "Search Opinions" at the bottom of this page–us it!

I am in a fix. As i am sure you must have heard about Iphone (Paris Hilton of mobile phones). I cannot sleep or do anything without the thought coming into my mind again and again. The thought is with me day and night. I have never wanted any device like i want the Iphone, and i am not saying this lightly!
However, the device is made to work only with AT@T sim card and their condition is BLUE MURDER even for those who live in America. One needs to sign 2yr contract of $60 monthly (minimum) to use an Iphone in the states and since it is an Ipode( the feature i like very well) one needs to pay additional money to download music, podcast and movies into the phone.

All said and done for me to operate the Iphone in here, i have to buy it in the States, activate ROMMING facility from there and pay almost #4 dollars per minute for all calls i made even local( within Nigeria). So all in all to use the phone here means spending nothing less than $10,000 within the two year contract that is if i am to minimize my calls to only 30minutes daily. I am sure common sense will not allow this. But my sense is not common when dealing with such an issue.

Finally, i read somewhere that a different sim may work on the Iphone( I am sending you a link). I would like your personal OR professional advice ( or both) on this matter.

I may sound a little bit crazy to you but what are friends for?

Hey bad news for the iphone, sandisk and knigston have released a new 4GB memory card and by the begining of next year they will have up to 16GB memory card on the market, that permit any late phone compatible with the sdhc format to match the iphone with memory format. And by the way the nokia n91 memory was 8GB in 2006 and almost have the same features as the iphone except for the touchscreen, they are pratically both identical, but the n91 can shoot video with the same 2MP resolution. I would say iphone is a match for n91 but for late sony ericsson and nokia phone, it's just a joke, nokia and sony erickson just released some terrific phones such as the sony ericson k850 and the nokia n95. But those two last phone are like VIP phones since they are not affordable for anybody.

well, n91 has good features and has the same amount of memory (8gb) as the iPhone.. but man, this phone is by far the best that i have ever seen! nokia cant even animate its applications the same thing iPhone does! so between the iPhone and N91, the later is behind by 5yrs when it comes to technology.. and that's not all, iPhone will be launching something extraordinary this 2008! so better watch out!

as you know, iPhone has a 8gig flash memory but N91 has Hard Disk Memory, and it can be damaged easily.
The other problem with iPhone is the bluetooth and i want to ask if someone know iPhone can transfer files or not..
