Yes, so some people like toys - and there is nothing wrong with it. I'd suggest the for the person who wrote that to read, 'All I need to know I learned in Kindergarten.'

I surely don't suggest using a Macbook as a mobile phone. Someone might think the person never made it out of kindergarten. ;-)

People are complaining about the lack of editing functions. Well, there is a reason for this. The iPhone syncs with iPhoto. If people understood how iPhoto and the "Library" in a Mac works, they would also understand why Apple did this. It is, partly, a sync and file-name issue.

To be honest, for me, it's a bit combersome to edit a photo on a PDA. And, on a screen that size, it would kill the battery in a hurry.

Someone asked if it will work in Europe.

Sure, it will work the same as any four frequency (Quad Band GSM) phone. However, just like with T-Mobile and AT&T phones, certain features won't work. So, expect for the phone and SMS funtions to work as always. However, visual voice mail and Internet e-mail is a function of the AT&T network in the USA. So, unless a carrier in Europe is set to handle these features and has an agreement with AT&T - those features won't work. E.g., some carriers in Europe do not have agreements to relay MMS.

E.g., most carriers have an agreement with RIM Blackberry and the service is not interupted in most countries. However, this is an extra charge from T-Mobile, AT&T, and now Verison.

I was at an Apple Store. I was informed that there will be a few upgrades from Apple - but only a few (They releasedit the way they wanted it and stable.). Other upgrades will be from other companies - approved by Apple so the security remains intact.

According to who? Anyway, those are good "points." :) :) :)

I do have a Mac - so naturally no problems; my friends have PCs and their iPhones are working and syncing fine.

What nonsense! I have a SE Walkman phone and now the iPhone. The audio format in a SE is not going to change. Thus, the audio in an iPod/iPhone is equal - if not better. Both have 8GB - so that's a wash.

The Sony may have a few more features; but it's not being released in the US. It will probably have a few errors on various networks such as T-Mobile and AT&T (see reviews from this site). So, good luck (beware of some unlocked phones). And, the price is huge too!

Don't get the W960 its only a 2.6 inch screen while iphone is 3.5, and w960 is only 256k colors and the iphone is 16 mil colors, and who cares about the 3.2 meg cam in the w960, get a good digicam from sony around 5 megs and u get a good deal.

                            8gig MicroSD?

And, how much, pray-tel, would that cost? And, how many phones have an OS that will support such a card? How many people use so much memory.

In my opinion, and it's just that, only Sony and Apple have good music players. So, get a Sony or Apple if you like music. If it's a killer phone - maybe Nokia is O.K. But, not all Nokia unlocked phones work well with US carriers. So, be careful.

I have purchased the iPhone. It has some cool features and some things that are lacking. For my needs it's O.K.

People are getting crazy over iphone simply because of advertisment. If you want excellent sound quality for your music, SE W960 would be a better choice. SE W960 also has huge internal memory (8GB), Wi-fi connection, and touchscreen.
