For some reason everybody is wayyyy too subjective in this forum...
How can you say that iphone will have a better screen than E90 when you haven't ever seen it? And Nokia's screens are generally VERY good. And do you even know what zirconium is?? It's the scratch resistant screen coating, and has no impact on the image quality whatsoever.
If you _really_ want a touchscreen, of course iphone is the way to go. But I hope that everyone agrees that typing will suck on iphone - no feedback, most screen will be used up and you'll have to look at the keys. It's not what iphone is made for, anyway.
And E90 is _not_ 2 in thick... it's 20mm, versus 11mm for iphone. E90 is a bit bigger, but you get much more in the package... It's up to you to decide whether you need it or not.
You can't just say that iphone will be the best phone ever, especially since it has not even been released yet. Its hardware is mediocre at best. Plus, if there was a better phone than iphone, who would lose, anyway? Apple? What do you care? Brand loyalty is stupid. Just get whatever you like the most (which might very well be iphone), without running around claiming that this is the best thing in the world...

the apple iphone is a great looking phone with great stats, however you have a company thta builds computers now moving to the cell phone industry, i do give them alot of credit, however as a cell phone manufacturer thay have not proven that they are the best, there ideas have been around for a long time yes but they havent proved themselves in the cell phone idustry things are very different than making a computer, i do wish apple the best luck in the world however dont count your chickens before they hatch

nobody can say that nokia e90 is better than the iphone does it have touchscreen? no you need that ugly pad that is like two inches thick come on man in its specs it says that it has 16m colors but that aint true its only like 65k iphone has zirconium (its touchsreen
) and its only .45 thick iphone is way alot better than nokia n90.

All the nay sayers about the phone can put their thinking cap in the trash can. They have no respect for the smart and hard working people who created this phone for the benefits and joy this phone can bring to the tech lovers and users. It is a technological genius creation that nay sayers can only dream of.

considering that this is Apple's 1st cell-phone, they must be congratulated!
the only drawback is that it would have been a great phone during the time it was being designed. it wasn't planned a year in advance.
but...for iPod fans, it shall be a great mobile.
the main advantage it has over nokia's N series is that it has a touch screen interface.
on the whole....i do like it! :D

I am always stunned at how stupid a high proportion of the people who post on GSM Arena are (who exactly are your demographic!?) (The site is excellent by the way!) If anyone cares to view the new iPhone advertisements on the Apple website, they will quickly discover that this device is so far ahead and so much better than ANYTHING out there ANYWHERE, even trying to compare it to any other devices featured here is like comparing the Star Ship Enterprise to the Space Shuttle. And that is no joke. The iPhone, unlike the superficially 'cool' looking HTC Touch, is the real McCoy (sorry!), based on 5 years of development, over 200 patents, a very stable 'desktop' OS(X) and the sort or industrial design and attention to detail that few other companies are either capable of or care for. The iPhone and its user interface is the future, not just of Apple's future devices, but the whole way in which we interact with technology. And you can quote me on it. And no, I don't work for Apple, I just get what they are doing. They are about to decimate the market. And that's good for us all!

There is not a single difference between the iPhone AT&T stores sell and the iPhone Apple stores sell.
They are all as one, work on the same terms.
We won't know of locking manuevers until it is released. Everything you hear of iPhone lock thus far is pure rumor. No word has come from Apple.

Does anybody know if the iphone will be sold locked even from the Apple stores?Apple stores will sell the iphone with Cingular contracts obligatorily?...I just want to buy the phone from New York as i will be there for vacation, and use it in Greece...Impossible?Please give me an answer

How ridiculous. I have nothing more to say - there is nothing more that can be said. Only fools will be buying this especially the first round. Look at the ipod for problems!!! They still havent mastered that so they moved on to something else. Funny thing is - apple fans will follow regardless of quality or productiveness I am an apple fan but only of my apple laptop so its not that Im anti apple, Im just anti "things that dont work properly aka ipod"

I'd like to answer xtremelycomplex's questions which might be other people'questions also.
1. Will iPhone have java games? - Chances are it won't. Initially Apple did not want anyone but them to install games or applications since a lot of them result to system crashes but they are now playing with the idea of allowing other developers work with them, maybe under their monitoring.
2. What are the ringtone options? - Same as all other cell phones, also available to buy on itunes. (there will be a tab specifically for ringtones when you connect your iphone.
3. Will it be able to sync with Outlook contacts? - Yes
4. Does it have a flight mode? - Yes
5. Does the browser use WAP sites or normal Internet - Normal HTML. It has Safari which is standard on a mac as explorer is standard on Windows.
