this piece of crab even doesn't have a built-in gps antenna. paying so much money just for the interface???? no wifi, no radio, no 3g. i mean come on, even my mom's $50 lg phone does have a 3g. apple is all about an interface look.

I think the first gen of this phone will be bought for its style. People who want 3g or a good camera phone wont buy it. The techheads will start buying when the second version comes out.

At end of the day if you want a phone with wi-fi get a phone with wi-fi. I think this phone will revolutionise the way people use phones. It has new technology other phones dont have at the moment. Sod Wi-fi what if people only want it for multi media ie pictures videos etc? Exactly this is the phone these sort of people will buy!

Iphone, "going back to the stoneage with gsm"

Nice Eyecandy, sorta reminds me of Vista.

The Iphone is surely innovative, but the concept of the phone, fees, contract, simply a waste of money. Being that Apple Inc, released previews of its capabilities for the Iphone, I'm positive that we will see alot of better phones from real phone manufracturers and the price will come down lower than the Iphone, besides the cellphones are saturated enough, Pay 599 for a phone? buy a computer or a notebook, get the same qualities without a hand-held device.

Heck with that kind of monies you could buy 3 phones . LOL

would be cool if it didn't lack standard features like 3G, fm radio, 3 mp cam, and Wi-Fi...

              next phone please!

i'm eyeing for this one to be my next phone-to-be. like many others, i'm pretty disappointed that it does not have 3G and a radio(?). i currently owned W800i and i love it so much!!! i have hundreds of songs in it and this iphone would be great to have also. i wish it has 3G for the leap.

apologies for my comments made, i had a bad day, but that is no excuse.
anyway apple will not be hindering the iphone in anyway, cingular/at&t have had to change their network structure for certain features to work. so i still believe you to be incorrect, but i must apologise.

The phone will be out in europe by end of year, october would be a guess. In the US you are talking somewhere around june. Price is plus $500 in US, in the UK in pounds im guessing (and part hoping) for a 200-300 price mark. Wont be to many if any contract concessions.

To answer another question the sim card is removeable and slides in at the top or bottom of the phone.

Rumour is saying that the phone will be locked to 3rd party developers. The OS is a small version of macs OSX, apple will control everything that is put on the device. Bad for the amount of software available, but good in my opinion for overall quality of the software.

People should not judge the phone until its out. Nobody is expecting the internet to work well going thru cingular, particularly through edge. But i trust (and based on the performance of its wifi when it was showed off by steve jobs) its wifi will work amazingly. I repeat... the wifi will not be locked down on cingular contracts. You got done by an april fools.

The lack of 3G killed it, I'll be waiting for the 3G version, though

I'm using Pocket PC for years, near about all models of i-mate & others. So I think every thing is OK, but what about its softwres?? (I mean operating system) OS. If third parties start developing softwares for this phone, then I think this is the best phone for new generation. Otherwise we have to waite for a while untill its software available!
