I have the I phone Xs max 9 months now. And the screen has suddenly become unresponsive. I’ve tried to fix it every WU I can but failed. And I feel this is pushing me to get a new phone now but am scared of investing another £1000 on a product that is so unreliable even though I have cared for it so much

"well I mean apple might do a bit more than security updates, for example the iPhone 6 (2014) is still supported on iOS 13" You mean the 6s from 2015. You said it yourself in the next sentence that the 6 was dropped. And why don't you compare iOS 9 (which the iPhone 6s launched with) to iOS 13. Then compare Android 5.0 (which is from 2015) to Android 10. You may make the argument that iOS was good in the first place and doesn't need as many changes, (even though they do need many changes) but doesn't that make the argument that they get updates more invalid? Because the updates change practically nothing.

"I know a lot of people using a iPhone 6 and 6 plus." Well hope those people enjoy their terrible battery life, bad performance, terrible display, terrible camera, terrible bezels, terrible everything.

"And that was the XR, the XS Max was even better" No it wasn't bud. The XR was known as the iPhone with the best battery life out of any iPhone ever, yet still couldn't compete with good Androids. Look at PhoneArena's comparison that they actually filmed where they compared the XR and XS Max. And look at the endurance ratings of phones like the Note 9 released the same year. (One of the few good phones Samsung has released.)

"And this generations battery is even better beating out S20 series" I never said the S20 series was good. Don't put words into my mouth. There are much better options. Like the Mi 10. Which has better cameras and battery life.

"not to mention the s20 Exynos 990 version which is global is an embarrassment" Once again, I never said the Exynos 990 was good. Don't put words into my mouth. People who like Androids know the 990 sucks.

joe nodden, 17 May 2020"How does the iPhone have a inferior screen?" Big notch. Lo... moreWhen I meant after sale support I did not simply mean software wise, but the only company you have talked about is a much smaller company, oneplus, what about Oppo or Samsung? Pretty sure that they are bigger players in the Android market. ''Like by major I mean from Android 6 to 7, that kind of thing, not tiny security updates which is all Apple does'', well I mean apple might do a bit more than security updates, for example the iPhone 6 (2014) is still supported on iOS 13, The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus supported iOS 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 before being dropped by iOS 13 (but are still getting the 13.X.X updates), and they are the third to support five versions of iOS after the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5.
I mean they are big overhauls of updates. And don't try to say 'oh people only use a phone for 3 years' I know a lot of people using a iPhone 6 and 6 plus.

"clearly you have forgotten about the last generation of iPhone's" No I remember their poor battery life.
From GSM Arena themselves, ''In our usage, the overall battery life on the iPhone XR was very good'',''Still, based on some rough calculations, we got about 6-7 hours of screen-time on this phone and about 20-22 hours of usage. Even after a day of photo taking, navigation, social media usage, calling and general usage, the iPhone XR still had about 15% battery left at the end of the day. You can use this phone as you normally would and still go through an entire day without having to worry about it dying on you before the end of the day.'' And that was the XR, the XS Max was even better, the XS admittedly was not great at all but do remember that is was a compact device 5.8'' display. Poor battery life huh?, especially from someone who hasn't used an iPhone since the 6. And this generations battery is even better beating out S20 series, not to mention the s20 Exynos 990 version which is global is an embarrassment.

Rk100, 17 May 2020Thank you for reply, though it felt like you were quite bit... more"How does the iPhone have a inferior screen?" Big notch. Lower resolutions. Lower refresh rate. (Yes I'll say it again) Still using LCDs in phones like the 11.

"Ram wise, I currently have not faced any problems, being real, how many apps does one person really need to have open in the background." Hearing a lot of first person words here like "I". Y'know you don't represent everyone.

"Also inferior cameras? To be honest, if I compared it to the V30 or Oneplus 8 or even the Samsung 20, you would probably choose the iPhone (possibly no with the s20, but it is far better than some of the current flagships right now), it has one of the best all rounder cameras out there." Buddy did you really just try to compare your over one thousand dollar phone from nearly 2020, to my phone that costed me $360 back in the beginning of 2018. I never said my phone was better. I know it's not good anymore. It was good years ago against the X but we're in 2020 bud.

"i meant the software part, personally I would rather use iOS then Android" Yes the lack of customization sure can get addicting.

"but when I talk about jailbreaking, ooohh now there is a problem" Did I ever say I had a problem with people jailbreaking their phones? No. The only ones who have an issue with it is your favorite company Apple which will basically completely revoke your support if you jailbreak. Meanwhile companies like OnePlus allow rooting and I'm pretty sure even posted a tutorial on it.

"clearly you have forgotten about the last generation of iPhone's" No I remember their poor battery life.

"There is no ecosystem in the Android world" And that's just the way I like it. No being forced into buying specific expensive products just to complete the ecosystem.

"this iPhone is not meant to be cheap. It was never even meant to be considered as affordable." Yes and vegans weren't meant to eat animals, they weren't even considered meat eaters. See how you sound. But anyways, the issue is at that price there shouldn't be as many flaws as there is.

"Apple as a fact has the best after sales support" OnePlus buddy. They deliver about 3 amazing major updates per phone. (Like by major I mean from Android 6 to 7, that kind of thing, not tiny security updates which is all Apple does) So about 3 years which is longer than the average lifespan of a phone. (Before it's upgraded) And even if you wanted to use it for longer that's easily doable with the amazing OxygenOS that's been shown to even be faster than iOS a lot of the time. And like I said before, they allow rooting and stuff.

joe nodden, 17 May 2020Hmmmm lets see. -No customization -Overpriced -Inferior ... moreThank you for reply, though it felt like you were quite bitter. How does the iPhone have a inferior screen? Yes it misses the high refresh rate, but what else is bad about it. Ram wise, I currently have not faced any problems, being real, how many apps does one person really need to have open in the background. Also inferior cameras? To be honest, if I compared it to the V30 or Oneplus 8 or even the Samsung 20, you would probably choose the iPhone (possibly no with the s20, but it is far better than some of the current flagships right now), it has one of the best all rounder cameras out there. And obviously it is better than my older phones, but i meant the software part, personally I would rather use iOS then Android, you know what I hear a lot, rooting the android devices to get even more customization, but when I talk about jailbreaking, ooohh now there is a problem, 'oh it is so much effort...'. iOS updates never cease to amaze me, I have an older iPhone 7 plus, and without hesitation I would go for it rather use my older s9, even though it is newer

''Weak batteries, with the only exception being this'', so clearly you have forgotten about the last generation of iPhone's.

There is no ecosystem in the Android world, and this iPhone is not meant to be cheap. It was never even meant to be considered as affordable. Fortunately, it is not a problem for me to afford these devices. And one thing I never see is mentioned, if after sales support. Apple as a fact has the best after sales support ''ACSI Score: 83.3'' (one of the highest). iPhones are never going to be cheap, but what is stupid, i think you'll agree' is that all of these other brands following Apple.

Rk100, 17 May 2020May I ask, why you hate iPhone's in particular, I see you h... moreHmmmm lets see.

-Very little RAM (No, optimization doesn't make up for it, there are tests that prove it)

-No jack so consumers are forced to buy their terrible sounding airpods
-Weak batteries, with the only exception being this

I don't want to be here all day so I'll leave it at that.

"what makes the 11 pro max trash? Personally I love this phone, it is better in every ways than my Honor 10 and my previous Android phone (Samsung note 9)." Well obviously it'd be better than those outdated phones.

"For me the headphone jack removal wasn't an issue, I already used a pair of wireless headphones" Some of us actually care about sound quality as surprising as it is.

"And may I also ask have you ever used an iPhone as a daily driver." Use to own an iPhone 6. Wasn't my purchase. My aunt always bought iPhones and gave it to me right after buying the newly released at the time 7. If Apple released a solid new phone then sure I'd go for it, but none of their phones have been solid.
