Monopolizing the smartphone market? Are you insane? Apple has about 10-11% of the market right now.
In Q2 2020 Apple has sold 45 million phones, people who buy them are complaining about nothing at all including the price.
Apple doesn't compete in the android market, their products are unique both hardware and software and their customers agree in their worth.
It's not any of your business to decide how should they price their products, it's the market who decides and so far they are doing phenomenally well.
As for yourself either get a better job or go get your fairly priced android like the other 9 out of 10 people do.

I just hope android phone manufacturers follow this lead...
I want a small phone again that I can hold with 1 hand and pocket friendly.
Apple is nice if you have the eco system and its hard to admit it there products are good for work(if you have apple eco system).
I would still have android phone personally and unfortunately the phones are big....
