Mzwandile , 16 May 2020iPhone fans are not driven by new spec much but refinement ... moreFirst, if you think 8K is worse than 4K, you need to do seriously do some research on resolution. 4K is only a quarter of 8K, and if you think the framerate is bad it is hardware limited to the snapdragon 865 as 8K has to record at 30FPS.
Second, I have not seen any normal 12K resolution display or video. The second closest is 16K, but from my understanding through multiple research sources is that 8K is the last mainstream resolution and further increases will need to be simulated.
Third, Samsung does look forward in upgrades unlike Apple who follows. Why do you think they've upgraded to 4K 60 from 4K 30 on their Galaxy S8? Why do you think they've went to 960FPS slow mo on the Galaxy S9 from the Note 8? Apple has gotten all of those same features later, if not at all. They can't even match Samsung's 960FPS or 100x maximum zoom.
Lastly, you are not limited to refresh rate and resolution changes. OnePlus opens 120hz 1440p all the time.
PS... If you want more features and better hardware to begin with, iOS is the wrong option. They've finally gotten 6GB RAM, which we had on samsung phones several years ago. Apple also forces benchmark devs to measure differently, as the iOS version of passmark goes from 700K compared to the android version which I saw the Pixel 4 at 24K, and the Exynos S10 at around 17K. iOS is nowhere near the hardware of Samsung or Pixel.

iPhone fans are not driven by new spec much but refinement and polishing of
existing spec with edition of new spec like 120hz refresh rate in this case, LiDAR can, new ios14 features, etc. So iPhone fan will be angry at Apple at all. Unlike Samsung who jump from one feature to another everytime and they just not refined like the 8k which is terrible compared to iPhones 4k and if there was 12k Samsung would jump to that next year without refining the existing 8k and 120hz refresh rate limited at low resolution just not how iPhone fans want thing done.

These include: 5G mmWave/Sub-6Ghz, the iPad Pro's boxy design, a new 10-bit 120hz display, 2 extra GB of RAM (6GB total), double the storage (128GB), the first 5nm processor (A14 Bionic), a LiDAR scanner, 3x optical zoom, huge improvements to low-light photography, and possibly better water resistance/wireless charging/fast charging.

Competition is sporting 5x periscope lenses giving great 10x hybrid zoom.
Some of them are behind big sensors like IMX 586 which improves video recording through telephoto as well. The images on competitors are far more usable in low light while the iPhone will simply be cropping from Main sensor in low light.
Ultrawide sucks coz it won't have autofocus.
Again same sensor as last year.
Probably won't have night mode on it either like 2020 flagships.

I complained about garbage telephoto and Ultrawide compared to competitors.
Fast charging standard is 30W. Many companies offering 40W-65W on 400-500$ devices.
Apple is simply behind the game here.
IOS is handicapping the processors potential by not giving features that SD865 Has like
960fps Super-slow motion recording, lack of features like split screen multitasking, etc. Even though the processor is capable of handling these tasks, iOS is proving to be a bottleneck here.
Heck they are giving new features in iOS 14 namely fully functional widgets and app drawer, things that existed on Android years back.

1. More megapixels isn't always better. Sure, a high resolution main camera would be nice, but keep in mind that two of the Galaxy S20's cameras are 12 MP.
2. No expandable storage or headphone jack...this is Apple, what do you expect?
3. The resolution is about halfway between 1080p and 1440p, which is fine.
4. 18W is admittedly not the fastest, but the standard rate on most phones is 25W. I'm guessing that it's limited to 18W because of Apple's insistence on using Lightning.
5. How does iOS affect the processor's speed?
6. You can't accurately judge the design of a phone based on renders.
However, I admit that Apple should use better cooling.
