The variable framerate mode is a good idea. Thankfully, Apple made it so others will copy this feature. Others copy both the good and the bad from Apple, so if Apple does something good, I as an Android user am thankful.
From online screenshots it seems the minimum frame rate is 30fps. The UleFone Armor 2 from 2017 also records with a variable frame rate and its minimum frame rate is 10fps.
