Tbh iphone nowadays doesnt show any attractiveness to the users who seek to express themselves. Samsung's new flippables look cooler and different in my pov.

2. That sounds super illegal. Forcing things to be on the play store under a pretext of "security.
Google is such a blight on innovation in the mobile space.

SuperSpruce, 02 Nov 2022I'm just curious, other than interface customizability... moreI used to be able to show CPU usage info in developer options, I can't do that anymore. Can't tell what apps can or can't be loaded on startup.
Accessibility usage for Apps outside of Play Store (goodbye FOSS apps) Malware has already been able to get around this.
This is all that I can think of but I know that it will likely slowly just increase and increase in the future.

Anonymous, 02 Nov 2022Yet Google keeps slowly stripping away the freedoms we used... moreI'm just curious, other than interface customizability and scoped storage, what has Google done in the past 5 years to take away our freedoms?
Wait one more thing I thought of: removing old apps (that still work!) from the play store (Google copying Apple once again)

Android 8 was the peak and fell from there. Android 11 was the last version that I am tolerating before I root just to disable things I don't like in Android and to get some freedom back. Nowadays if I was using iOS, I wouldn't really feel like there is a big reason to switch. With the newest versions of Android, apps seem to only be able to access two places I know of. Downloads and Documents. SD card? What's that? I can't let an app use an SD card at all from my experience. Only 2 folders in internal storage. What does this do to protect my data compared to simply choosing what folder an app can access in internal storage or my SD card? I don't know. It makes me mad enough to root though.

But for the first time ever I can say that the stock iOS interface is more customizable than the stock Android interface due to Google removing features and options.

I'm losing faith in Android, and while I'm not remotely considering buying an iPhone, I've gotten to the point where I can say Apple really is better for most people, because Android has largely lost what made itself great by copying Apple."
Just buy iPhone like more and more does.
Apple is fixing their shortcomings every year while Google haven't fixed any of Android shortcoming, Android today isn't any more appealing than Android 5 years ago. Sametime iPhone and iOS is getting better and better which shows very well in switchers, record amount Android switchers.

Not even poplular youtuber even mention about this when doing battery test..not fair

Apple's iPhone is only better if all your gadget are also from Apple, buying into their eco-system. Else, Apple's iPhone is just a less useful smartphone to start with. Yes, there are many work around, probably take times to master these work around, but it just make the experience not as friendly as Android. I still prefer the flexibility of Android than Apple's closed system's IOS iPhone.

Holmesy, 01 Nov 2022I used to be a Samsung fan once myself, really enjoyed them... moreThe opposite, I find Samsung is better, more utility user friendly than iPhone which only is friendly among Apple eco-system, but is totally a closed system out of the eco-system. Speaking of boring, iPhone is more boring than Samsung.

Anonymous, 06 Oct 2022Well actually samsung ( the S or note series anyways) cost ... moreI used to be a Samsung fan once myself, really enjoyed them, but got bored with the same old, so switched to Apple myself, must admit, I’m enjoying the experience with them, when I first tried an iPhone years ago I didn’t enjoy the experience, years on I took a risky leap and tried it.
OK like any OS it has its naggles and gripes, and it takes a bit of time getting used to using a new OS, but I find the OS a lot quicker, opening apps, browsers, even the battery life is good, probably down to streamlining being better without them having worry about adapting apps to run on different phones that run android.
The keyboard isn’t perfect but then I find it’s far better than Samsungs, and there’s always always the option of being able to download an alternative one such as gboard, swiftkey etc.
I started off with iPhone 12 Pro Max, upgraded to the iPhone 13 Pro Max which I’m very impressed with the battery life, plus it doesn’t take forever to bring out announced OS updates, or they don’t constantly shift update dates like I found with Samsung, not sure if I’ll switch to iPhone 14 pro max though, from what I’ve read and heard, if you can put with the big notch on the iPhone 13 Pro Max, and it does not bother you, then apparently it’s not worth the upgrade really, not sure how true that is.

Apple should stop releasing new software just like Microsoft they have nothing new to add
