Joseph Zabrodsky, 10 Sep 2024I'm surprised that the maximum possible audio playback... moreYea, a fantastic audio quality improvement over the iPhone, if (1) you're a greater wax moth with ultrasonic hearing and (2) can actually find any music/audio that legitimately was produced as a 384000 Hz recording from well, recording to dubbing, mixing, and mastering (and digital conversion/export) without any downsampling occurring either purposely or accidentally as a result of limitations in hardware or software throughout the whole chain, and actually makes use of such a large frequency spectrum.
And no, those "audiophile needle drop" rips that just manage to capture the dust and hiss of the pirate ripper's turntable setup in ultrasonic resolution don't count. Neither does audio voodoo like Waves, Dirac or whatever that claims it can build up a whole ultrasound spectrum from 44100 Hz audio (unless you like hearing sounds that weren't in the original audio, but the whole point of hi-res is presumably having the sound "as the artist intended", so we already lost the plot, then).
Also, good luck getting any audio equipment that will be able to reproduce those frequencies accurately and not just begin introducing artifacting in the audible spectrum as a result of trying to play humanly imperceptible stuff. And plugging that into your phone (ideally, you'd use a XLR out, but since smartphone fans are ever-so-obsessed with thinner and lighter phones, I don't particularly picture anyone carrying a USB-C → XLR out adapter with them).
I find it hard to fault Apple for that particular decision. It wouldn't improve a thing, at all.

The phone remains very unchanged, there's a new button, a new chipset and more screen in the same dimensions... I guess a new ultrawide? Not worth it for the 1199 price tag...

Actually who needs mostly USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 is android user because many android user still copy their files to laptop. The Iphone user just simply use Airdrop or Icloud 🤷🏻
