Although personally for me, at least 12 GB of RAM should be suffice.

At one point, all mobile manufacturers will reach a plateau state which nothing can be improve anymore. I think its better to increase the duration gap from prev models to the next even longer (not every year needs to have newer models). Instead improve the software features. My 2 cents. Nonetheless, profit is the main focus. I'll have no doubt whatever specs will it brings (even its the same as prev, just slight improvement on the chipset), Apple has got its fans that will always keep on track with the latest models.
