But this was in the beginning of the year. Apple has dropped a lot in terms of market share this year. They're down with like 27 % compared with earlier!
Seriously, don't you think everyone crazy enough to buy a 2005 phone for $1200 has already done that???

If you want battery life buy a basic phone, that's just the way it is.

hopefully battery life is alot better on the new apple iphone being released cos the exsiting battery life is disgusting!!!!!!!!!! all the millions and millions of dollars if not billions that this company has and yet cannot increase battery life!! well with all this money how come they cant make an all round smart phone with the lot!!???

i dont own an iphone but i know people who do.
maybe the reason why the iphone is so special isn't found in specs... maybe it is the spirit of the device?

One thing I don't understand is that only cellphone users from nokia is writing commentry on the iPhone. I think It is people working for nokia that sit the hole day and try to make the iPhone look bad. This is due to the fact that nokia don't have the market share in the smart phone market anymore. iPhone u use the apps that u want. I had a nokia n73 and it is a good phone. It also didn't have functions on it that I need and their is functions that u don't use. So please don't compair a iPhone to a nokia because they are completely deferent. If you want a nokia then get one or any other cellphone. Get a phone that suites your life style.

you will find 8/10 tigers dominated lions in a one on one duo. tigers scared and ride a plane to india??LOL

just like nokias that i had in previous years, now i have an iphone. they are only better in paper specs. but iphone is better in reality.
checking email and browsing the net everyday using your phone, watching videos/movies using your phone.
phone has better touchscreen with a wider screen, phone is fast and never lags like all phones do.. this things have better impact on people's lifestyle
than a phone whose only main asset is to capture a 5mp photo and a video with a qwerty keyboard, i dont need it that much, people hardly use it these days.

1. The Contract.
You have to purchase an AT&T contract in order to be able to activate your new iPhone 3G. In the long run, it turns out to be much more expensive than the original iPhone. All the $199 talk was just a marketing gimmick by Apple after all.
There are iPhones being sold without contracts but they are still very expensive at $599 / $699 and are locked to AT&T’s network anyways. So you still have to suck up to AT&T and choose from its crappy plans. Of course, there are other ways but we ain’t talking about them here.
2. The Camera.
After all the iPhone bashing, it turns out that Apple hasn’t yet learnt to consider customer feedback and has brought back the same crappy 2 MP cam in the iPhone 3G. Yea, no Flash, No Auto Focus and of course, No video recording. No advanced manual settings. It doesn’t even have a front facing VGA cam for Video calls over 3G.
3. No Multitasking.
With all that powerful hardware packed under that sleek body, OS X limitations still dont allow a decent Multitasking experience. Apple expects that all iPhone users are noobs who just like to RUN ONE APPLICATION AT A TIME. Great going, Apple!
4. A complete waste of Bluetooth.
You still can’t send your documents, media and other files over Bluetooth to other phones. You cant sync your files over Bluetooth. Add to that, the absence of A2DP. Apple expects you to use Bluetooth just for super cool & exciting tasks like talking on the iPhone using a Bluetooth headset.
5. No MMS.
You can’t send Multimedia messages through the iPhone just for the simple reason that Mr.Jobs thinks that no one should use MMS any more. So what if it is an extremely popular feature for media sharing and every 3rd person on Earth would like to use it. However this reason doesn’t hold out much anymore because email is becoming increasingly popular for file sharing on mobile phones. But having MMS wouldn’t have hurt, surely.
6. The Touchscreen keyboard.
The only way you can expect to use the iPhone’s Touchscreen keyboard accurately & efficiently is if you have fingers the size of Frodo’s or if you undergo surgery to make them thinner. It takes a bit too long to get used to tapping the keys on its virtual keyboard comfortably, in case you have normal human fingers. And there is no alternative as well. Also there is no option to select / cut / paste text yet.
7. No Flash support.
The Safari browser on the iPhone still doesn’t support Flash animations or videos. As a majority of the videos on the internet are in Flash, this means that iPhone users will miss out on a lot of content. However to watch Youtube videos you can use the Youtube App.
Bonus reason :
The iPhone 3G just adds more to the already overflowing pool of overzealous, annoying and idi0t fanboys. They want you to believe that the iPhone is the best phone ever and if you point out the list of features where it lacks, they just say that those features simply suck and no one wants them anymore. All iPhone features become super cool for them, even if they have been implemented by a gazillion other phones ages ago.
Adding to the above 7 reasons, the battery of the 3G iPhone cannot be removed. You dont get the dock bundled with the phone anymore, you have to buy it separately for $30. It does not have FM. The battery life is not too decent. Also there are many other phones that provide most of the features iPhone provides, in a much better way and are way cheaper than the iPhone 3G.
