Once you restore you get this message from iTunes.
"Congratulations your iPhone is officially unlocked."
That's it, done :)

I called Optus a few days ago and asked them to remove the network lock on my iPhone. I got a message today saying it had been done and to restore it via iTunes to be complete.
I'm running the latest firmware so I don't know what the issue is.

If it's locked it will tell you if you have the wrong SIM.

Can someone tell me if we can get delivery reports of sms we send from i phone 3g. i just got mine and am yet to figure out how do i know if the text sms i sent was delivered to the recipient or not.

2.2.0 and 2.2.1 is not a big update, they say just fixes bugs, i did not notice it at all. so no need for you to update to 2.2.1"
Well that's not all, the majority of the newer applications in appstore (games,etc) will need an iPhone with 2.2.1, that's why i've updated mine, the only negative aspect is that v2.2.1 can't be unlocked yet, no big problem forme because i use only Vodafone network.

How can i know which firmware my iphone has? Is there any way to know that? coz i can't go to the menu. you know what kind of screen that is.
