Like I said earlier new Iphone and Netbook coming this year :
Boy Genius Report details a source "pretty high up in AT&T's food chain" who reportedly shared several tidbits of information about the next-generation iPhone. While short on details beyond the addition of an iPhone application to control AT&T's U-verse suite of Internet-based products and services and more hints that the iPhone may see increased Wi-Fi browsing speeds up to 7.2 Mbps, the source's comments provide additional perspective on what may lay ahead.
- New iPhone announcement around mid-June
- New iPhone will be faster and have a more seamless experience unmatched by any device
- U-Verse iPhone application; will allow control of your home DVR (play, pause, rewind, etc.)
- The annual iPhone launch is "becoming a tradition."
- Nothing official is being confirmed, but they said that people should prep for an exciting time this summer.
- AT&T is said to be working with Apple to create a unified product with an unparalleled experience across all their products and services.
- Apple's 3.0 software should tell us where the iPhone platform is going.
- They said customers shouldnt need to choose from AT&T's high-end devices because of features, they should choose based on preferences. The gap in capability should be filled with the new iPhone.
- Seems like the higher speed HSDPA (7.2Mbps) is being hinted at too which should confirm the earlier rumors of the new Infineon chipset.
The final comment from the source proves to be the most interesting and relates to the possibility of a $99 3G netbook arriving this summer, with the implication being that it may be an Apple product:

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970You are talking rubbish, Apple's target was 10 million, they sold 13.5 million.
You only have to look at what happened last year and the year before, it is very likely that Apple will release a new phone this year, around the same time as they released the 3G last year and the 2G the year before that.

As for Nokia and Samsung fans lurking in here. You guys really should just get over your insecurities. If you're confident of your Symbian devices, you really wouldn't be wasting your time in here. But you obviously see the iphone as a major threat and challenge to your Nokia or Samsung phones, and that is why you guys are here trying so hard to bad mouth the iphone with all of your powers, lol. It wouldn't work. You guys are just making fools of yourselves. People will buy the device that they feel is right for them and their needs, and it wouldn't matter if it's Symbian or OSX or WinMo. What makes iphone stand out among the rest is the user experience it provides its owners and its smart software platform that enables owners to get major additional features just by acquiring firmware updates (3.0 OS) without having to upgrade to a newer model (unless hardware upgrades), and of course the Apple App Store.
Now if you want a friendly debate as to which is the best phone, please do it with respect. I think some Nokia and Samsung phones are great as well, I just happen to be more impressed with the iphone's UI more than any other features out there.

It wouldn't be practical for Apple to release another major product such as the next gen iphone in the same year. 2010 would make more sense for the new iphone, or maybe even Christmas of 2009 the earliest (great Christmas gift for myself, lol), but I really doubt it for June, although I'm wishing they would, but like I said, it wouldn't be a practical move since they still have a lot of iphone 3g that they need to dispose.

no new iphone this june. the iphone 3g will be the latest until 2010. the iphone 3g sales was good but not what apple expected. they manufactured millions of iphone 3g but did not sell too good for them last year as what they needed. if they created a new iphone, many brand new 3g units will be wasted. plus this coming year is crisis for u.s. so instead of creating a new iphone unit, they just made a software update to increase the 3g sales and lessen their cost. the software 3.0 was really created for the new iphone this coming june, but the sales of iphone 3g was not good for them so they changed plans and instead of putting the software to the new iphone, they just made it a software update to increase iphone 3g sales. the new iphone will be next year and will automatically have 3.0 software plus new added features

Finally the Iphone killer is coming out :
Last week some more details about the next iPhone revision continued leaking out.
First, there were spottings of new Apple device IDs found embedded within the iPhone 3.0 firmware. Silicon Alley Insider then claimed that the next iPhone would come with "much faster internet". Finally, AppleInsider said that the new iPhone would indeed have a video camera, supporting evidence of video publishing screenshots also found in iPhone 3.0.
It's not surprising that the number of leaks is increasing as Apple does have to keep their carrier partners at least somewhat informed heading into a new release. We've also continued to hear unconfirmed whispers and have specifically heard that the new iPhone with support a 7.2Mbit chipset.
Another interesting possibility is that Apple may have settled on the Marvell PXA168 ARM chip as the heart of a future device. Some unconfirmed claims point to Apple buying up supplies of this chip which is reportedly also due in the July timeframe. The Marvell PXA168 CPU was announced in January of this year and aims to provide "entry-level laptop" capabilities to consumer electronic devices.
