i bought iPhone 3g a week back & i would say it's pretty impressive. the display is the best quality & i have never seen such a crisp one before. true there are minor goof ups here & there in the gadget but i would say they are trivial ones. call quality ia also clear & reception is fine. messaging takes time getting used to but it is only a matter of hours before one starts typing flawlessly.
overall a revolutionary gadget with exceptional music player in terms of audio quality.
thank you apple for this wonderful product

shimizu, 07 Jan 2009can u start the phone without having a sim card inserted? ... moreMy iPhone is unlocked, I contacted my network and they sent me a message that told me how to do it, all I had to do was restore it in iTunes.

I got mine with Vodafone Australia.

People spread a lot of lies about this phone.

The Iphone simply requires you to have the unlimited data plan, which is good because otherwise you'd have to be counting Kilobytes. N95 can do quite a bit of things, but the size, lower price and near-perfect interface make the Iphone superior to the N95, at least on those levels. The N95 is more powerful, but in this day and age its not all about power and speed. Simplicity and fluidity is a big factor, and the Iphone delivers flawlessly.

Almost everyone I know uses email on their phone's but we are all smart enough to realize the cost benefits.

You've got a pretty good phone why are you afraid to use it?

I love the iphone 3G, I work in a cell company store and i cant regard it any higher, if you make the effort to set it up so it automatically downloads new podcasts everyday through my home wifi. Its a way of life, to have everything from my emais, notes and browser not to mention awesome games!!

only downside i can see is the lack of MMS messaging and TXT message forwarding... other that no other phone comes close to the apple O/S looks or feel!

Symbian is very versatile and from what I've seen the screen is great and controls are dynamic. As you said, there are many programs for Symbian, though there are arguably more for Iphone. The AppStore has revolutionized everything with regards to programs and games and even utilities for mobile phones (or at least the Iphone). The sheer multitude of applications available ranging from Music tools to many diverse games(Sim City was just released)to an MRI viewer. Also the simplicity of Iphone interface is unparalleled. Also, consistent updates from Apple are making more things possible, such as A2DP/file transfer Bluetooth, File manager, and even the ability to run other operating systems (Linux is now run-able on the Iphone through jailbreaking). The 5800 is great with many features, but the sad truth is that the Iphone still trumps it in terms of the "experience". It sounds cheesy but having used MANY phones, and owning an Iphone now, I can agree. The lack of multitasking isn't really noticed, and I would even say that it can "multitask" better than most other phones able to do so. It can load and close applications in seconds. Going from a webpage to txt messaging takes on average about 2 seconds. It's almost as if you are multitasking with EVERYTHING open at once given how quickly and easily it can switch programs. My suggestion would be to try one out for about an hour messing aroudn with it, calling people, maneuvering menus, and playing games. Web pages stay saved so that when you reopen the browser, they are still there. Any application that crashes can be opened again in seconds.
