as a person who has bought Iphne 3G i wont to let you know some of the serious problems with iphone
the biggest problem is with GPS hat dosn't come with per installed maps like NOKIA so when you are leaveing your country you should forget about gps due to high charges by the service provider and since the iphone is sensetive to the tempreture of your body if you are navigatinge in a cold day and waering gloves you can't use your fancy phone
now I undrestand why bill gates is richer than steve jobs steve is just a lucky man not a genius

Anonymous, 05 Jan 2009That's why I buy a phone that suits me and you buy a phone ... moreNo, this is the issue. The iPhone is here, in my hand. I am using it now. It has a great resolution screen, brilliant OS and sure, whilst is has a few problems, fingers crossed they will be addressed come Macworld later this month.

Now, I might have missed something along the way, but how can an OS that hasn't even been developed be killing my iPhone. You can't say 'well, when they get around to revamping this model it will pwn anything you have' thats like saying, that hologramic display phones have already killed the iPhone.
The one real 'iPhone killer' that comes to mind is the N97... which hasn't been released yet. Sure its specs are fantastic, but one word keeps popping up in my head. 'HYPE' Maybe it will live up to expectations and be the greatest phone ever, but if I recall correctly, the iPhone fell under very similar circumstances.

So stop whining about colour resolutions of WinMo here, please, in the Apple forum, because as I've said countless times before, we don't care. If I was a prospective iPhone buyer, I don't want to come here to hear about N97 specs and such like that. Could this forum just be about people's experiences with the iPhone, nothing more nothing less.

And I swear, the next person to say 'no bluetooth'...

nick, 04 Jan 2009resolution over the number of colours a screen can show wil... moreThe 65k colour thing is irrelevant?

Sure for a business phone, maybe but increasingly WinMo devices are being marketed as Multimedia phones.

Would you like to take a bet on Microsoft addressing that issue with WinMo 6.5 or 7?

You'd be pretty stupid to think they will leave it at 65k.

Of course they will just be more reworkings of WinCE, I don't expect real change until WinMo 8 when a complete rebuild is scheduled.

nick, 04 Jan 2009resolution over the number of colours a screen can show wil... moreThat's why I buy a phone that suits me and you buy a phone that suits you.

No one forces people to buy phone's, you do a little research and buy what you want.

The Touch HD wasn't available when I bought my phone I'm not about to waste money buying one now especially for things I don't need.

65k is an issue, the phone I had in 2002 had a 65k screen, the one I got in 2004 had a 264k screen both the phone's I have now have 16 million colour screens.

I have used WinMo based phone's no matter how much eye candy they've been throwing on lately, underneath the OS is still the same old memory hog it's always been.

resolution over the number of colours a screen can show will always take priority.

the whole 65k colour thing is completely irrelevant in my opinion!

and to the guy like 2 posts down, just because you dont use something, does not mean that applies to everyone!

The iPhone's camera is not "crap" I even posted a link to Flikr so you can read the exif data to prove they are actually from an iPhone.

It's not the megapixels it's how you use them.

At least I don't make empty claims, I back them up with proof, which is more than I can say for you.

As far as stupid jokes by SMS go I consider them spam and delete them, just like I delete spam emails.

Maybe I was right with the retard bit.

I've been using email on phone's for at least five years, most of my friend's do too, I've got five accounts setup on my iPhone at the moment, used for different groups, I store email addresses in my contacts details, what's the point of having those thingsf if you're not going to use them?
