To get over this just install some random apps with smaller size (lesser than 1mb) via apple store on ur phone. Once installed This will correct your apps DB as well as you can access your old apps too, once is your phone is working right sync/back it up on your iTunes :-)

i have a jail break i phone 3g but when i upgrade it to 4.1 to 4.2 with i tune it has a error and it goes to recovery mode and cant open what to do
