yes i have this 3G iphone, and i dropped it a couple times. And on my 4th drop, the back of it just cracked and smashed through. This phone is better then the 2G iphone, but its not worth buying a brand new iphone, its the same price. The only thing thats different about the 2G phone is that.. Faster internet, and the back of the phone, u can choose from black or white colors. thats pretty much the big difference. Everything else is all the same.

Anonymous, 21 Sep 2008I searched the iPhone 3G on the web and there are some comp... moreMine is ok and it has had a few accidental spills to the floor and no cracking. Just buy a silcon case/condom for it and it will reduce some of the force when you drop it.

I think a cracked case would have to be misuse or a very very fat bottom sitting on it. :o)

There is a lot of bitter and envious people out there.

The iphone is an awesome and sleek performing phone and sleek looking as well.

I've tried several top end phones already (Viewty, N95, HTC Diamond) and they were alright, but none of them comes close to the smoothness of the iphone's UI. Although I have to say that this is not everybody's phone. If you are a person who does a lot of SMS forwarding, the iphone is not for you.

The iphone's features makes a lot of sense and works just very well. It has of course an awesome music player (ipod). Its safari web browser is so good that you will find yourself not using your laptop as often as you do. Pictures and videos just look wonderful on its 3.5 display. And I am very glad that its display is made of scratchproof glass, but of course I don't want to take risks and still put on a protective film just to add durability and protection. I am also very happy with the application store. I find a lot of those applications very helpful and useful that I find myself using them every day. It has indeed become an important resource for me.

I've never had such an awesome phone as the iphone, and I am really glad that I decided to get it.

I really do not understand those people who come in here and bad mouth this great device just because it would not work for them.

Go to an Apple store and play around with this device so you can see for yourself how sweet this device really is.

ViL, 22 Sep 2008great enough for art photography? for pro photographer? a... moreyeah...they will laugh at the iphone for sure, not at the n95. n95's camera can be used for art, professional photography, snap shots, candid shots...etc...a very versatile phone. A pro photographer doesn't neccessarily need to use or carry a big camera to define being a professional.

If the next iphone has this equation...missing features + upgraded camera with video recording and a powerful lead/xenon flash + large touchscreen = one powerhouse device... THEN I WOULD BUY IT. Right now, the large screen of the iphone is somewhat of a waste due to the poor camera. My other option is the SAMSUNG OMNIA since it is coming ATT. For now, my n95 is one awesome versatile phone.

Not worth for the dime you spend. At least the body could not have been with a cheap plastic finish. Graphically intuitive. Comparing to other devices currently on the market, lacks many features. Bulky. Applications are targeted for those who are in US (in that way if you are in US it is somewhat worth the money). Phone is locked and bound to a career (unlocked version will cost you more). Battery is not replaceable. At least if you try to open, warranty is void. So many things to compromise for a graphically intuitive and user friendly phone

                                  Again,
A clear demonstration of fundamentalism. To make a point we all have to be categorized into either professional photographers going around with our SLRs and a buch of lenses, or we must have a crappy camera on the phone, like the iPhone.
Sorry, my friend, I want it all. Because I can: all other phone manufacturers offer it.
I own 4 digital cameras, all for different uses (from an DSLR, to a pocket one), and I still want a phone with a decent camera. Because there are moments I don't have any of my 4 cameras, and I still want to make a decent picture? Does it make me a customer who's out of the curve? I don't think so. I think I am similar to more and more people who seek creativity in the smallest things.
I printed and shown some situational pictures taken in Brazil, in BW, with my 5MP SonyEricsson K805i in 10x13', and nobody can say they're "cell-phone-pictures".

Anyway... just watch the voting results for the iPhone in this site, and compare to most other smartphones.
