I'm a big MAC (he...he..) fan, but i have to admit it seems as though other phones have better specs than the apple. I have to just ask - can the iphone load app's like word, excel, powerpoint etc?

Im thinking of buyimg the iphone 3g but i heard a rumour that there is suppose to be an even better one coming out like next year? is there any truth in that?

But you're right, even for all the things the iPhone doesn't do, there's plenty it does do and do well. And the lack of MMS/file trading via bluetooth is not a hardware thing, and it's likely to be sorted out in a later firmware update, if it hasn't already been.

The signal strength is much higher in a 3G network also.
But whatever. Keep using your GSM phone. I'm sure you'll be plenty satisfied when the 3G/HSDPA phone owners are getting better coverage and services than you are.

just got my iPhone 2 days ago. This is the best phone I've ever owned. It does not lag or freeze. It's just a smooth running phone. As for those complaining about transferring songs via Bluetooth, give me a break, I did not buy this phone so I can transfer songs. Load your own songs on your phone. As for pictures, you can email pictures through your iPhone. It would be nice if the iPhone can transfer songs via bt, but it's not like u got to have that feature. I'm enjoying this phone and that's what matters the most.

If you did u could have saved urself 5 mind with your useless post. I'm a nokia man at heart and e71 is verY impressive. I never watch dumb @ss on them gadget shows but they r just ur average presenters. I check specs first , then test the model in shops demo. So I know wot I'm doing unlike other divs who r expecting a star trek Beamer. I can't put my iPhone down & if you saw all the stuff mine does u would b shocked.

ur right, iphone cant do somethings like a 100usd cellphone can do like sharing music, mms, pic via bluetooth. but iphone can do what ALL worlwide celphones cannot do. almost all cellphones can send picture and music via bluetooth, nothing new, and i dont care about it. what i care is iphone can do what all of them cannot. the multi touch screen, and the sensor for autorotate has never been done so smooth like the iphone. htc and samsung are imitating it but its never been half as smooth and cool as the iphone. its what you paid for. it change the way cellphones has to be. has no keypods, your finger dictates what to do. and its the coolest thing a phone can do.its an ipod-cellphone-internet phone combined. since it was released, it change the way cellphones has always been. keypods, slides, stylus, flip up is always been the story, iphone has come to give you new style like you never experienced before in a celpphone!

Ppl may bitch and moan about apple's phones. But Apple was the one company that moved all the rest of the smartphone makes to make their handsets something more than a mini desktop pc that you can use as a phone.

You can't send Pictures, Music or anything via bluetooth, the iPhone is a step backwards in technology
It is simply a Fad, much like iPod.
Yes Apple's iPod has changed the music industry, in both good and bad ways, and became the mainstream MP3 player, and if you were going to get an MP3 player, because that's the 'in' thing.
Now it is simply the same case as the iPhone, some of those same people will go out and buy one, and the majority of those people will later find out that what they just spent a pretty large amount of money on, cannot do the simple things that a phone worth >$100 USD can do.
