therock, 05 Aug 2008So would say that the nokia n95 is far better?..I am shoppi... moreI did sell my N95 when i purchased the iPhone...for myself i believe the N95i is a mush more practical phone with very similar features.
The fact that the iPhone does not do MMS is not an issue from the users end but what about all your mates that are sending away and you never recieve any notification.

Have you tried typing on the keyboard? Anyone with nails or big fingers is wasting their time.

The camera is shocking....

i will stick with the iPhone now because i have it though i think i should have kept the N95!

As long as you move those songs into your itunes, you can synch it up to your iphone. Same with photos. I'm not sure about videos though.

Got this phone today, and so far I am loving every moment with it. This phone is just awesome. It does deliver all of its features very satisfactorily. I've owned several feature packed phones before, but the iphone outperforms them all in what it does. I can't believe that some comments in here about this phone are so discouraging. Do not believe those people. Check it out for yourselves. Go to an Apple store and be amazed by this phone. It has its shortcomings, but compared to the others, it's still way better. The best web browser, 2nd to none. The most fluid and responsive touch UI. Very good screen resolution for its display. But I would say that the Touch Diamond has the best resolution, but the iphone's bigger screen makes up for it, so they get the same score for me. This phone really delivers. But hey, if you think that it's not for you, then it's not, but it does not make it a poor phone.

What music files does iPhone support? Is iTunes the only way to upload music? And can you upload your own files to iTunes without buying them from the iTunes store??

craigy29, 05 Aug 2008I'm reading people are having problems or people brand bash... moreTo Craigy29!

Since you own the phone, can you please tell me whay is the internet and organizer like?

Just like you said, I'm looking for a phone that would have qualities to serve my purposes and am willing to give up on some luxuries.

I need a very reliable, strong signal.
            Excellent organizer and email.
Fast operation of the phone and user friendliness.
            Strong and loud ring/sound.

I am devided between Samsung Tocco and iPhone.

Can you please give me your opinion on the above features on the iphone.

            Thank you.

I'm reading people are having problems or people brand bashing, what ever the case everyone here is going to have their own thoughts and their own hands on experience with the iphone 3g and they are going to release there issues here, the good and the bad.

I've had the ipod touch 32gb and now i have the iphone 3g 16gb. Now my hands on experience with both i can honestly say is positive.

Regards to the ipod touch before and after upgrading it to the 2.0 firmware. Before & after my ipod touch didn't once freeze or stop or have any issues, all i can say that once i installed the 2.0 firmware on it, it did slow up the ipod touch a little bit, it slowed it a little between switching between apps or starting one up, but to me that was no issue, it was nothing major for me.

I have since sold my ipod touch 32gb and bought myself the iphone 16gb 3g, i mainly bought the iphone 3g because i loved my touch and i loved the fact that i could not have the same thing but be able to call and txt from, an all in one gadget for me.

Now I have been using the iphone 3g solidly for the past 3 to 4 weeks and I can tell you, i use it all day long, I make at least minimum ten 20 to 25 minute call conversations, i send and receive minimum 40 txt messages, i listen to at least 3 hours a day of music and also spend about 2 hours a day doing things on the internet with it and send and receive 10 or so emails from my iphone 3g. I have multi-tasked with it also and not once has my iphone 3g 16gb froze, stalled, tyurned itself off or lagged between functions and my usage.

So to my expierence this is the best mobile phone i have ever used, im totally satisfied with it and im not turned off that it may not have everything that a cheaper phone can offer me.

We all have our own taste and what we look for. I've had Nokia's, ive had Sony Ericsons, Motorola's and even Samsung mobile phones and they we're all great mobiles, they served their purpose for me and if i didn't like something about one make and model, it then made me think before I bought my next mobile.

Now if my friends ask me if I would recommand them to buy an iphone 3g or any mobile phone in any case, i would advise them of my experience of the good and bad and i would sell the model up where it was due but would end off advising them that each for their own tatse and use, I say don't take my opinion but analyse what I know about them, and do some research on forums before making your own choice.

My point here, is that forums are here for people to give feedback on the good and the bad and I truely think the only people who should leave feedback about a mobile only if they have had a hands-on experience with one, and for the people to ask those people questions so this can help them make their choices if they think it's worth moving in that direction to buy one.

Product bashing isn't a pretty thing and besides just because one person has had a bad experience, it doesn't mean the next person to buy the exact same product is going to have the exact same problems. Sometimes it could be due to the fact that you have received a faulty product, who knows.

I like forums because I do like to research on things if im going to spend big $$, and people feedback helps me to decide.

                Happy Researching everyone ;-)

Listen you neophytes, I have been using Apple products for 15 years, I am a stockholder, and I was a "fanboy" before anyone coined the phrase. I own three apple laptops, and have owned every major Apple product that has come into fruition. No one is bashing, the phone is junk. That is my honest opinion. A phone that does not function is worthless. Releasing 3rd party applications that have not been tested is bad, considering it took Apple nine months to release the SDK for development. We were all led to believe this was because of Apple's meticulous screening process of third parties. We were under the assumption that there was good reason to wait. My girlfriend and I both own ipod touch 16bg's and have has issues prior to the 2.0 software. Mine more so then hers. But everything went to H*ll when the new software was released. Most of the applications are slow, do not function properly, crash, get stuck and so on. This causes the hardware to be extremely glitchy. IF you do not have these gripes then you obviously do not own the iphone 3g nor do you own a ipod touch. Because if you actually use them, they let you down. The phone does not work as advertised. If you think I am just spewing nonsense, look at Apple's stock AAPL. That tells the story of what is really happening. Either you are diluting yourselves or you have never actually used the iphone 3G. Which seems to be the case. Here is one for you: if you think there is nothing wrong, I defy you to go into your settings and set a password for your iphone 3G. The rest will be self-explanatory.

Returned my girlfriends iphone 3g to AT&T today. This has to be the worst phone ever created. The most unreliable, unusable phone on the market. My girlfriend was literally put to tears many times by the horrible malfunctions this phone exhibits in spades. Numerous hours were spent trying to resolve issue that were impossible to resolve. If you buy this phone you will regret it. Had to restore phone so many times you would not believe. COnstant freezing, locking up, shutting down. I have never seen anything like this in my life, oh wait I have. I own an ipod touch...

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970In reply to the post about getting the iphone unlocked, so that it can be used with a Vodafone sim card, i wouldnt recommend doing that, purely because you wont be able to use most of the features as Vodafone does not support this equimpent for example GPRS/MMS wont work because there is no configeration settings available so you wont be able to use the internet etc...

this is an faul set because i know the every part of this phone, its basically just like a big ipod nothing more, like N95 its not show like a mobilephone, people cannt use another softr, but look nice, but what is the benifit for "looking"
and the main prblem is that it has a brand name so people are running to buy this and the authority take this opportunity just to sell the phone........

Me and my boss went to trieste, italy today to try and get him a new phone (which he mostly needs for business purpose). Around here, you can buy an unlocked iphone 3g - 8gb,by Telecom italia for 500 Euro (16gb is not in stock yet, they don't know when they will get them).

Anyway, he really liked the display, but was disappointed in relative closedness of this device. Almost all things need to be done via apple services, and more importantly, this phone cannot be used as a modem! This is very important as he is often abroad and carries laptop with him, but no-go with this phone.

Anyway, he's decided not to buy iphone, it's just a toy, and not good for serious user, unfortunately! And this type of phone cannot replace laptop PC.
