Contrary to popular belief among Aussie Outback Sheep shaggers, 3g does exist in other places. The European network is excellent and functioning well.

Italy, Austria, Indonesia and Singapore have 3g too. There are other countries that have 3g technology, not just Australia.

Yes the US does have 3G but the network is somewhat more limited to larger metropolitan areas but the networks are growing fast.

actually lots of countries in europe and japan have full hsdpa 3g networks

the Philippines has 3G networks across the 3 service providers, not only in AUSTRALIA.

Anonymous, 16 Jun 2008ok for those who have unlocked iphone the voicemail button ... moreMy phone is unlocked; It is on T-Mobile And, yes it does work! It works as all the other T-Mobile phones. I.e., I press the button, and it sends me to voice mail.

And, you of little intelligence, how could Apple demonstrate the 3G technology using a 3G connection? Even though gas prices are so high, some opinions need to be doused with gasoline and lit on fire.
I vote: enough with the 3G posts already.

ok for those who have unlocked iphone the voicemail button doesnot work so here it is dail this no on you keypad *5005*86*xxx# and instead of xxx put your voicemail no if its 4 digit so be it and the button will activate and whenever you want to dail your voice mail press the button it will dail it for me it works try it and let me know.

but i will still unlock it cus apple will not take out software like video rec, fwd sms, mms etc cus on app store the software is reviewed and then posted by apple and obviously apple dont want software like video rec and sms fwd etc on their phones or else they would have given us those when they updated 1.1.3 with multiple fwding.

usa have 3g with at&t, argentina have 3g ecuador, spain, brazil, chile, with the iphone 3g get's in 22 countries with have 3g and the another more then gets later more countries in the world have 3g now and the lifetime in the baterry is poor.

Of course, there is, and the technology has been installed in many more countries other than Australia, otherwise it would be nonsense to distribute the iPhone 3G to countries which don't have it. It would be cheaper for Apple to distribute the regular iPhone.
