Asia and Europe were the very first to have it many many years ago. The USA and Australia only recently caught up and still they are not Fully 3G Compatible in all honesty.
In all honesty the Iphone is inded a very nice Novelty the only two things that I persoanlly only have against it is the fact that its Bluetooth is not completely compatible with anything other then only headsets, which means you cant hook up wireless keyboards nor even transfer files or pics from the Iphone via bluetooth, and additionally you can only transfer files to the iphone or pc mainly with the use of ITunes software on a PC or mac. Which means if your vising some one and had taken some pics with your iphone you can not even transfer them images to there phone nor pc.
Wow sucha shame and they feel its required to lock some unit like that such as ad story. LOL

I made a question below about video call and researched on may forums. I'm very amazed to know that iPhone 3G does not have a front camera to enable an effective video call!
This service is one of the most important here in Brazil, in fact, in my operator, it's a hit!
What more (besides reading your e-mail in a very small screen) can you do with a 3G phone, if you don't have video call available?
Apple disapoints us again! :(

Daniel, 13 Jun 2008I have a question! I may be wrong, but I can't see a cam... moreyes, the phone has a secondary camera, used for video calls. the mms is missing, but that is because you can use the e-mail service to send and receive pictures ;)

I have a question!
I may be wrong, but I can't see a camera in front of the phone. The video call service is available to iPhone?
If it is, do you have to keep turning around your phone or use a mirror? Because the only camera is in the back of the phone...
If that's the case, it's very stupid, don't you agree?

Bit gutted there is no mms or video recording, however you could email your pictures & I have heard that a video recording application is being made. No mms doesnt effect me but I do use video alot, its been a tuffy between this and the htc touch diamond, but Ive never had an iphone, and know il regret it if I dont get one......Im excited but soooo not patient its like another 28 days !!!!! =]

apple iphone is coming out in july 11, 199.99 for 8gb and 299.99 for 16gb the catch is the feature plans are higher making up for the phone prices, and you have to eligible for an upgrade to get one. the previous iphone you could just buy it whenever with a two year agreement.

this is very good phone
some main features are
1 u cannot send sns saved in ur inbox
2 u cannot set personalised ring tone as itune store is not available in our country
3 u cannot transfer data via bluetooth
4 ithink most of us want a phone for multimedia use but it hangs when multi aplication is used
5 dont bye iphone until it is lonched in india as if u will connect unlocked iphone smuglled in india it will be locked when connected to net
i had just used it for a week
