your phone is from the usa
iphones are by default on contract and are thus locked and are also NOT unlocked after the contract
once youve updated your software to os 4.1, the lock has kicked in and has ''un-jailbroken'' your iphone
however you can once again unlock your iphone 3g by jailbreaking and then unlocking the carrier using redsnow
else downgrade to os 4.0.x then unlock

hi..got my iphone from my sister abroad..i was able to used it for how many days, and i updated it with the newest version which is the 4.1..after the successful updating, the phone seems locked..i wont be able to open it anymore, and they wont recognized my sim. now, so worried what to do, i called up apple store and adressed my concern, but they said, they dont have the support for the said update software..need to wait...dont know how long should i wait? do i have other option, so i can use my phone back? can i still used it here again(its from USA)? when will be the support for the 4.1 software comes to the Philippines..please..need your response badly..

if it can support all network provider by inserting any sim card, its a factory unlocked mobile or else it is locked...

raj, 31 Oct 2010In order to delete all contacts unfortunitely I okeyed dele... morei am sorry to inform u raj that the option u selected in settings is not reset all contacts and settings...it is 'reset all CONTENTS and settings'...now u dont have an operating system in ur iphone..u have to restore via itunes..u will lose ur jailbreak and unlock...read carefully before applying settings..
