try installing blackra1n, and installing snow on it thereby unlocking it properly.
about the multitasking, its not available on the 3G period. doesnt matter which os you are using.
however you may install a 3rd party software from cydia such as backgrounder, but it is no way close to the real multitasking experience, but feel free to try it

Sometimes after switching on the phone,,
my iphone 3G displays- "no SIM card found". Then I have to open the SIM and re-enter it while the phone is on. Can anyone plz help me how to solve it?
Also, is multitasking possible in 3G os 3.1.3?

Benjie, 22 Sep 2010Why my iPhone cannot open you tube?your iphone is most probably factory locked and then jailbroken, and this process affects the pushinfo notifications,youtube connectivity and sometimes wifi and gps.
You need to go to cydia and download certain plugins to fix this, i think pushfix and youtube from sinfuliphone should sort it out
