Dear Mr, its called import costs. Being from South Africa myself, the iPhone 3GS costs in the region of R10 000, which is about $1500, try living with that!

hey ppl my bro gifted me an i phone3gs on my birthday.... its from melbone australia.... and its not working in india especially delhi...... how can i get it to work..?????

plz clarify what do u mean by "u dont have sim". Is ur phone locked or unlocked?
1st scenario: assuming that ur phone is unlocked/sim free---- try putting Airtel or vodafone sim in to the phone and then try connecting to the itunes.
2nd scenario: if ur iphone is locked, take it to airtel or vodafone customer care center, they will unlock the phone from present carrier and insert their own software which allows you to use it on their network staying authentic. I am not sure abt vodafone, but airtel customer care representative told me the same. plz confirm before trying it out.

I hope you are aware that, In INDIA iphone works only on AIRTEL and VODAFONE GSM sim's. You can always unlock the phone to use it with other service providers, but i personally wouldnt recommend doing that keeping in mind the Apples recent announcements which are anti-unlocked phones. I called up airtels customer care, and they affirmed that they can unlock iphone (with other service providers,say AT&T) and inject their own software which will make your iphone authentic and you will not face any problems in future when you update the iphone OS. I hope this helps. Always re-confirm with airtel or vodafones before taking a decision.

hi people, can anyone tell me if got a iphone 3GS from US, will it work in india as i asked a friend in US who is coming to india and he said it will not work bec of its bandwidth. as far as i know phones out there work on triband whereas ours is quadband. as its locked, can we unlock it out here and use it... please reply as i am getting it by this week. will appreciate an immediate response.

why is that iphone 3gs 16gb here in philippines costs almost 37thousand pesos in which 800 dollars. but acording to my couzin he is now in south africa he bought iphone 3gs 16gb but costs only 400 dollars why is it like that? any answer?

battery is very bad and network signal as well. i really hope the 4th gen wont be the same coz im really looking forward to getting it.

thanks everyone, now I sold my all phones. because i wast my valuable money for phones. and i lost my brand new N900 [four days old] in the school. and please tell me how about the battery life of this phone. and can i play divx movies on it? and can i transfer music files via bluetooth? if I can't how i send files via bluetooth? answer me plz plz plz, immediately.

U cannot find any 4G network connectivity on iphone 4 specs. It only refers to apple 4th Generation with OS as OS4 and capable of the "so - called" 4G network which is just like adding edge and GPRS to 2G and make it 2.5G.
