      hi,

is there any application that can support a sort of a missed call, incoming sms alert. Not by sound but something like the screen keeps blinking to notify an incoming sms.

      tks

Are you referring to the s40?

the s60 is also great. Both the mac os and s60 have different capabilities.

that is because they are two different OS's. Both are powerful though and have different capabilities.

The i phones here to stay, get used to it"

I have heard that many times from my friends....lol. they are unaware of other powerful smartphones out there because they are stuck in the iphone world...lol. You are probably, too.

The iphone is missing one thing....a powerful camera. Face it...although the iphone does have a brilliant user interface, it is incomplete.

140000 app for iphone? what the use? many of them is same n repeat, just change the name n icon. don use the 140000 number to cheat the world, apple can only cheat less clever buyer.

i always look down on iphone, apple will never hav better tech to improve next model, apple just want to earn money, maybe next model they will just add fm radio, the rest still the same, don hope a low tech company to make something that is hightech, worst is worst

hmmmm...other smartphones such as the 5800 also have thousands off apps and the capability mentioned above.
the apps for the nokia smartphones are avalaible at the ovi store and other webistes, which are free of charge.

Your judgement on me is wrong. I do know the power of the mac os, win mo, and symbian OS. I have used all three. I had an iphone, htc touch pro and other win mo smartphones, and am using an n95 and now a 5800 xm.

There are powerful smartphones out there besides the iphone.

symbian OS is very much alive.

AGAIN, IT IS A MATTER OF A PREFERENCE.

Let's not be too early to be judgemental,Apple will soon announce their net profits for the year 2009.Don't forget the only company which's giving Microsoft a run for money is Apple. They make few products but makes them well enough to beat the reining leaders of the field like Nokia who still have a lot to work on their symbian.
Phone hanging up is a common occurence in Nokia not in Apple.low memory msgs are on Nokia screens frequently.
To beat a company with a portfolio of innumerable models, maximum fan following with a single product is something.Just think about it??why does every new phone in the market come with one major question,is it an iPhone killer???

Apple might not make it till summer to release the next iPhone, after the poor earnings the company just had.

Microsoft just donated what would be 2/3 of apples income for Q42009:

Or maybe will iPod touch be the only product to see light of day considering nothing else apple sells anymore?

I sometimes wonder what people want from a phone.
I've had every evolution of the iphone, and must admit I've had my reservations on past models.
It seems at last that apple are finally making the i phone what it should have been from the outset.
This phone does everything that you need, and more, and presents it in a way that no other phone on the planet can do,though that doesn't discourage every other phone manufacturer from imitating it,and are their models without fault-no?

It's like a mini computer, when u buy one, I've got only basic stuff, rest everything,u can download and use & increase it's productivity via applications which're readily available.

Hi all!!I've been reading ppl's posts about the iPhone on a regular basis now.I must say that more than 90% of the ppl writing comments here don't have any idea what iPhone is.Their comments are based on brief exposures only.Frankly I was the same & had this opinion that iPhone's a bag of problems rather than a gadget.
All this's changed completely as soon as I bought one.the 3gs is the one I'm talking about.I keep playing with it whole day but charge it once a day. What more does anyone require from battery?I charge it for one & half hours and battery's juiced up fully to go.I've been using it for hours playing games, net, calls, but never has it got warm even. The only thing missing is the Flash support.Applications,games,etc.nothing can be deleted or added without one's PC.so no need for any accidental deletion whatsoever.
The applications are the only ones which behave like this, msgs, mails, etc.everything else can be edited, forwarded, send to all.
I'm finding iPhone times ahead of any Nokia,Sony,Htc any...stop believing others buy or use it fully before any conclusions.
