my Phone 3GS randomly shuts off and won't stay on until plugged in
I could be in the middle of a text, a call, or listening to music and it'll just shut off.

@Battery change: You can either get a full battery replacement set from eBay, or bring it to a local service nearby. I would recommend the latter. Try asking around for prices, and see who offers the lowest. (its only 3-5$ on ebay!)
